knockhill track day

Brian,

No, they said normal cover applies, no extra excess (£350 standard), and they didn't ask to be informed beforehand, so I didn't offer. I also asked if they record the calls for future reference, and she said that they do. So I have a recorded conversation that when I took out the policy I specifically asked about Track Days, so I feel very confident that I'm covered.

It wasn't cheaper, about £200 over my lowest quote from Admiral, but they also cover all optional extras (admiral didn't which gave me a £6K deficit if the car was written off), have an unlimited mileage policy (I was at a max of 5K with admiral in an attempt to keep the costs down), and have a pretty liveral view of modifications. Even without the track day cover, I am happy to pay that bit extra for the increased cover.

Excellent day, I have some good video footage of Gordon (I believe) in the red GT3 overtaking me down duffus dip, I'll bring to the meeting on tuesday if anyone wants to see.

Apart from that the highlight would overtaking a scooby and caterham (for me), and seeing Ian take the Radical - you could see his grin through his crash helmet![:D]

To All
Yes it was a great day out very well attended in fact sold out , and it was nice to see so many guys and gals from the club, and the weather was excellent ,no snow tyres where needed only slicks. As usual Griff was the man in his 996 Gt3 rs he even passed the Radical which is half the weight of Ians car. This was not a club organized event and was only put on the forum, so it does work Nice to put faces to members who are active on the forum . Hope to see you at the next club nights .

Yes, ot was nice to put names to faces. I'll be driving next time!

I did enjoy the GT3 vs Radical encounter. Outbraking a Radical into the hairpin - excellent!

Here's proof!

Outbreaked the Radical into the hairpin, even with Big Boyde on board, still managed to pull away. Even after fifteen laps, on the track renowned for cooking brakes, racing the Radical exhibited no brake fade whatsoever, so don't waste money on those ceramics! Saw the funniest site ever, following "nutter" Campbell, what can only be described as the bouncing red blob, wildly out of control (who needs expensive Penske shocks anyway).

Hope to see all the regulars at the next Hot Marque day on the 13th March.

P.S. DON'T leave it until the last minute, as this Saturday had over fifty on the reserve list alone!

I didn't catch it on video, was standing at the pit wall watching and kicking myself for not having my camera in hand......but it was strapped to the boxster and if I had gone for it I might have missed it all.......maybe next time.
