Koni Adjustable Inserts

I share your sentiments exactly, based on my own experiences I will never use porsche shop again but will deffo be buying stuff from Stuart again.

I didn't think Paul had his full moderator hat on anyway - he did have a [;)] in his post.

Ok, maybe I should not have posted... But, I see no reason why, I am no 'friend' of Stu or any other company, I pays my money like everyone else. I can only tell it like it is.. I had good service, I am sorry for that

Don't worry Ian - only a tongue-in cheek admonishment was meant. You're very welcome to comment on service, good or bad!

Ok No worries now lets get back on track...

Has anyone got a better set of fitting instructions, I thought I had seen some before but they aren't on the web any more....

Also Hammerite or normal paint to 'yellow' up the old struts ! [8|]

There was a link on Paragon Products in the States but I have tried to get to it several times and it no longer seems to work.

My choice is yellow hammerite smooth but be aware it does take a long time to dry (like all Hammerite) and doesn't seem to cover very well. It has taken me the best part of a week to coat parts for commercial use in the past.

How much did you pay for the struts John?

Stu did me a deal I was very happy with. As it was a special price I don't think it would be fair to publish it. I would highly recommend anyone give him a ring as he seems very accommodating to forum members.

I have every confidence that I will ultimately go for KW suspension and would not hesitate to get it from Stu. My intention on the strut inserts is they are a temporary solution for perhaps 18 months. The price was such that it isn't difficult to consider the inserts as a short term disposable item.

What can I say chaps, thanks for the comments, I am here to please, I will say though that Vicky(SWMBO [;)]) deals with a lot of the orders etc. so I will pass on your kind comments.

Paul, leave them alone we need all the advertising we can get nowadays.[:D]

Big Dave, about the pint for Paul, I'm sure it was a moment of weakness and normal service will have resumed very shortly after. [:)]

Jon (Mitchell - 9xx) you wouldn't be trying to steal business would you, you get enough advertisig on my own forum. [;)]

PS. For those that have bought the kits I'll be sending you some images by email if it helps of how it goes together.

Not stealing business Stu, more interested in doing business maybe.. We should have a chat sometime, you seem to have a good reputation, so should be good to deal with.

Hi John,

Wondered if you'd fitted the dampers yet, if so whats your feeling on them ? Are you going for a mid setting or fully soft for the road ?

Just wondered as I have mine now so just wondered if I could 'gain' some info from you [&:]

Cheers

Ian

Not yet Ian as, after over two weeks, Porscheshop have still failed to provide me with the bushes I need to get the car back on the road. [][][][][][][][][:(] I got a package this morning with only half the bushes I ordered, and half of them were wrong. You couldn't make it up.

I seem to recall I instructed my indie to set the rears (now well worn in), together with the 968 ARB, to fully hard and the fronts to half way.

The fronts shouldn't be set to fully hard immediately as they need a time to wear in. I've gone for stiffening the backs as they are a sod to adjust and I don't like under steer. I have a feeling they will be too hard for the road though.

I go full soft for road use and then turn up to 1/2 hard on the track. My rear koni are at about 1/4 to 1/3 hard. Can't remember the exact setting. When I put the 968 M030 arb on the front I will probably turn the base setting for both front and rear up one setting.

Thanks guys, I got an umbrella rather than a set of piston rings from the P Shop once, I laugh now....

Am wondering if I should do bushes as well... Will have a chat to the supplier of the shocks [8|]

Am thinking half hard sounds about right for me ! ( no jokes please )

I have to admit to trying a whole catalogue of emotions this morning - many of which involved shouting. None of these emotions seemed to fit 100%. Ultimately I opted for despair interspersed with hysterical laughter (and shouting). []

Are you doing Frontrunner this year John? :ROFLMAO: Methinks they may get more than they bargained for if you do

I'm about to negotiate Plant Hire rates with Mr Cannell.

Obviously a shot gun could be the tool of choice for close in work, but a Magnum would provide greater impact.

Without doubt my Beretta 92F would have been perfect, but President Tony said I had to hand it over a few years back now. Perhaps just as well under the circumstances. [8|]

Well, after what seemed like forever, Beaky is home.

Rear Konis and 968 ajustable ARBS set full hard, new inserts set 1/3rd hard, Poweflex bushes on the front, Rennbay geometry correction, all the original good bits and all set up by GWR.................................strewth! How much fun is that.

People have often said how well 944's handle and, while I agreed that Beaky was pretty good, I couldn't really see what all the excitement was about......until now [8D].

Granted the brakes are as annoying as a really annoying thing, but it just means I don't use them as much. [:)]

Much looking forward to Donnington, and then selling the familly into slavery to pay for it all.
