Living with KW - 1 month on....

That's interesting that you feel like you have a new 'invisible' LSD of sorts Scott as that's exactly how I felt when I got mine. It (the KW's) seemed to propel the car forwards rather than slip sideways, but that's a side effect of more grip. Additionally I found that after I had my stock 40% lsd rebuilt just recently and had the car for the 4 days, the handling felt on a new level yet again. The Kumho Ecstas that I had previously hated suddenly seemed pretty good, so there is still room for improvement yet my good man.[:D] Currently I am having a new Motorsport 80% 4 plate clutch lsd fitted. It is a joy to behold and can be viewed on Rennlist if you do a search on 'NEW Motorsport lsds'. To say I can't wait to get my car back is a mild understatement!!![;)][;)][;)]
Good to see you on Rennlist too.[:)]

Cheers Patric. Yes it is a good feeling and it really feels as if the rear wheels are biting into the road so the more throttle you give it the more grip you'd have. Granted i've not had the car out in the wet yet and i've only got a measily 270ish bhp (will know for sure at the next rollers of truth session) so maybe i've not got enough power to break rear traction in the dry either way traction is much improved.

I've been a Rennlist voyeur for some time but recently there has been some threads that has taken my interest so thought it was about time I took the plunge. I think between the two of us we seem to have set up the 'KW Fan Club'. I'm sure it wont be long before the membership increases.

Anyone got a view what adding KW3 (and Promax level 1) does for the value of the car? Enhance it, doesn't make a blind bit of difference or detracts.

Its not an insubstanial investment on a £4-7K car and I wondered whether it was worth it.

I would imagine it's in the 'not a blind bit of difference' category.

Obviously a car with a full and recent suspension refresh is going to command a premium over a car still on 15 year old soggy stuff but I think someone would want to have KW if they were going to pay much extra over a car that had a fresh OEM setup.

Keep your old Mo30/ARB`s and when you sell the car refit it and sell the KW/ARB`s

Selling the car with added bits on will add no value IMHO and will put of some uninitiated buyers who want Porsche `purity`

As for whether its worth it, I would say go 1st better suspension and brakes (its like having more bhp anyway) 2nd go for a performance upgrade as you`ll need decent suspension and brakes to make it work. eg: I`ve had all sorts of exotica and modern *cough* sportscars*cough* disappearing backwards on really fast bends [8|]

What a lot of 944 owners forget is how light their cars are compared to modern cars. 250ish bhp on a 944 is like 310ish bhp on a 1600kg car so all you need is the handling brought up to speed (modern cars DO handle well) and better brakes.
