Hi All, Thanks for all your comments. Just to update you...still looking! Going cross-eyed with all the forums (the Rennlist one is very useful thanks - spoke to Johnny Tipler about the Peppermint Pig) and have a couple of specialists on the lookout. I'll find the right car in the end - certainly hope so, especially now the GTS has gone []

low mileage might be useful when comparing water cooled cars but I think you need a different lens when looking at the aircooled stuff.........these things are like mini tanks when it comes to how they were built and feel extremely robust. Need to weight it up on its merits and forget the mileage........its all about condition.....condition.....condition [8D]ORIGINAL: jamesc Hi Colin, I did thanks, and the ones at eporsch, but I am awaiting news on a possible lead before committing on these. Plus if I am honest £35k for a 147k miler does seem rather a lot of money, even with the re-spray/refresh.

Yup... I recall a while ago on Rennlist reading a topic where some chap dropped in that he had close to 250k miles with no rebuild, very attentive servicing and more than regular oil changes - and he tracks it still! If the pampering is there in the paperwork somewhere then all good. Would easily go for a 150k aircooled than a 80k watercooled...

also - not sure if you have noticed but appears to be two cars at rpm technik with no pics yet at 35/39k. Might be worth a look.

Mine is about to tick over 190K but would still want £30K for it. []

Yes, BA can be good fun but you need a sensible exhaust as driveby limits are very low.ORIGINAL: mcgc0 Ha! BTW - have you done any of the Bedford Autodrome circuits? Think I'll go this Saturday. Apologies for off-topic
I was talking to them about it last w/end. It had a rebuild 9K miles ago, plus full bodywork rebuild & full retrim.ORIGINAL: jamesc Hi Colin, I did thanks, and the ones at eporsch, but I am awaiting news on a possible lead before committing on these. Oh dear. I must confess to taking my eye off the ball and missed the heads up for the RPM cars. The grey one is now reserved so I missed that. The red one at £39k seems a lot just because it doesn't have a sunroof? Thanks anyway for posting up and do please continue. I have found a nice C2 in black, '91 with 81k miles. The only thing that puts me off is the grey interior (very pale grey sports seats, grey upper/lower dash, grey door cappings/pillar trims. I really wanted black, so should I wait, live with it or consider changing it? I can only imagine changing things (re-trimming etc) is going to be very expensive. James

You could potentially buy it and wait for some black sports seats / interior to show up on ebay etc. or fit some recaro PPs or some other aftermarket seats. Retrim somewhere like southbound will make your eyes water but it will be as it left the pork factory. There are other options though ("Madmusicmike" is a nice chap on rennlist 964 forum and he changed his interior due to colour issues. drop him a line) You sure the non sunroof car is at a prem just for that? It might be exceptional condition. What about the c2 at eporsch at £35? No good?ORIGINAL: jamesc Oh dear. I must confess to taking my eye off the ball and missed the heads up for the RPM cars. Hi Andrew, The £35k one at eporsch was good but in fact he had another GR one in that I preferred. I am getting a PPI done on the black one though and will probably go for that if it checks out. One thing with the black one - no label under the bonnet. I suppose the PPI will highlight any problems relating to this?
Considering the, admittedly, few issues the car has, I would call the price ambitiousORIGINAL: oliver What about this? http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/porsche/911-964/964-carrera-2-coupe-man-box/2754209 Buying a car from the IoM is very easy, just needs a reg transfer. Paul Dangerfield at South Coast Performance would probably do a PPI
