Looking for a 997 - November '14

Giff

New member
I'm returning to the UK in November and will be looking to purchase a 997, I would ideally like to buy a member's car.

If you will be looking to sell around that time then please read on!

Ideal - Roughly 2005/6 Gen 1, Black, Blue or Red 3.6L with a black interior.

Must be manual.

I don't mind if it needs work, brakes, clutch etc all fine, lets me bond properly with the vehicle! It will be cherished.

To the moderators, I hope that this post is acceptable and would fully understand if not.

Am I being stalked by 987 owners? I do love my Cayman, I could just do with four seats in the UK!

Lol! I heard a 987 voice saying "don't post in the 997 forum, there be dragons.."

dont have a 987 anymore Giff ,and had several 911`s so no need to get paranoid [:D]

good luck with the hunt
i may be joining you soon unless the right spyder comes along...

I'm out!

Giff,

Interesting to hear that you consider a 997 a 4-seater. For me, more like 2 seats plus perches for 2 legless dwarfs..?

However, a Panamera is a genuine 4-seater.

Sorry to hear that you're leaving the Cayman fold but good luck with your search.

Jeff

Fortunately both my children are legless dwarfs so it's win - win.

I've done a fair bit of work on the Cayman, it carries enormous corner speeds without any effort at all so I would like a new challenge and I've not owned anything rear engined before.

Add to it being worth a fair few bob out here buying a 911 in the UK seems the next most logical step.

My kids were mid teens and not going out in dads car when I took to driving rather than dreaming Porsches, they then said it's ok we can fold! I started in the front engined cars so nothing against anything Porsche but then draw the line at 4x4 other than Carrera 4 of course but then, I work for JLR.

I admit that I still occasionally hanker for a 993 C4S!

Take a look through the 997 section someone may be dropping hints of leaving...[;)]

I've decided I need a 2004/5 3.6 manual with less than 70k in red with a black interior, it also looks like I'm going to be driving all around the UK in a green 2003 Ford Fiesta in November looking for one...

There does seem to be an abundance of grey and silver cars out there!

Why is that? Its a car with beautiful curves, why hide them?
?
You said you're looking for a red one. You said there are many grey and silver ones which I think are boring colours (as I have red). What's that got to do with your last comment?[:)]

I meant why are there so many grey ones!

They look stunning in red, just seen your signature, with the black interior you seem to have an almost perfect 911! Won't mention the gearbox ;)

Right, now we understand each other. Brilliant thing the English language! The gearbox and the turbo are made for each other[:)] Photos of mine here...
