LOTUS FACTORY TOUR

Looking forward to the visit

So is my brother who still owns the Lotus Esprit S2 he purchased in 1979 from Cubleys at Ainsdale (Southport)

Driven in the wet once :ROFLMAO:

It has now covered 47,000 miles --- still looks elegant and the ride is typical Lotus

For me in my youth (circa 1980)

Drove down to Cornwall when I discovered a Lotus Europa Twin Cam (1972 reg no LGY 18K) Pistachio (one owner) - supplied by the London Sports Car Centre

My brother was my wingman in a white Alfasud 1.5ti in Martini livery - camp but it was new and I was young !!!

Swapped cars and I paid ÂŁ450 to settle the deal

His wife had the Alfa - my brother drove home - One of the best sports cars I had

All within 20 hours !!

Clive

Any news on when you need the payment for myself and my friend, Paul Brooks for the Lotus Factory Tour?

Regards

John McCulloch

There has been some delay in Lotus responding to my emails.

However, I am pleased to tell you I have been making some progress today and will post here plus email everyone on the my list with the arrangements very soon.

Clive.

A Super day out to Lotus today, many Thanks to Clive for putting it together.

Sorry I had to dash off and miss the lunch but I had a prior appointment.

Great to see how Lotus had come on over the years and making some pretty sports cars.

Clive,

Thanks for arranging a great visit to Lotus. Hope your journey back to sunny Devon Was as easy as mine.

Clive

Many thanks for arranging yesterday's Factory Tour at Lotus. I thought that Guy did a very good job of giving us all the information to make the visit so enjoyable!

Quite a long round trip for some of us, but I hope everyone thought it worth while and thanks for your kind comments.
Here's a photo of our group, although it seems one or two late comers may be missing. [:(]

Clive,

May I add my thanks to you for the very interesting visit. Guy Munday was the salesperson who sold me my first Lotus Elise in 1999.

Indeed Peter and he told me he had been dining out on the experience ever since! :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Great to have your company at dinner last Wednesday evenng.

Regards,

Clive.

Clive,

Many thanks for organising a wonderful and very interesting visit. Interesting to see that in the modern world, there are still some that are very much hand crafted.... the logistics guys at Lotus must have very interesting lives dealing with so many third parties to get all the gear into one place!

Andy
