Lux to Turbo and beyond

Also it was necessary to remove the brake servo. Any advice on running without a servo would be appreciated.

Have a look at Woodsport's V8 conversion thread.

He has used a BMW brake servo on his Lexus V8 installation to save space

The Audi 5 cylinder has been done before, but it is heavy, I thought about a V6 RS4 engine but they can be a little fragile and parts are expensive - spcae for the turbos is very tight as well and it might be too wide - My sisters ex has one and I was intending to measure to see if it would fit between the uprights - His tales of expensive woe put me off - though he still has it, now with over 400BHP and a string of expensive bills!

The LS engine is relatively narrow and compact and with kits available makes sense! Not only that a brand new LS3 with ancillaries and ECU should work out under £7K (plus VAT) with 430BHP and 420Ftlbs, it appeals to be as there should be few reliability issues and it is a nice level of power in a 944.

Oh and there are various remote servo options on the 948 forums - the layout is very similar as our original servos were in the same place.

How about using the 32v 5.4 V8 from the 928?

Snot gonna fit is it? I thought the guys in Stuttgart threw that out as it was too big in its original form and wouldn' t fit under the bonnet.

Just asking[:)]

Far, far too big, unfortunately.

If you are using a later gearbox OP, then Id suggest swapping the fuel tank to a rust free plastic type. This requires that you swap the cross member and this in turn will allow you to mount the gearbox using the series two type mount.
