M O T and FIA Harness

My local MOT station were more concerned with the windscreen header being over the allowed size for stickers in windows (see left) than the six point harness.

I argued it was a bit of motoring history (true), the only sun visor I have (also true) and no way was I going to remove it. Oh, and do they want to still MOT my other vehicles....

No.

But you will prob need to have fixing rings attached to inside of cills, either side of gear linkage tunnel, under seat (if u r going for the 6-point and in rear parcel shelf (window out job). These rings are available from Safety Devices.

GT1 at Chertsey did the latter for me. The shoulder straps for the belts as supplied were wound around the centre bar of the rear cage, but because of the design of the Schroth belts with their built-in stress indicator, I couldn't get them tight enough for my liking.

Deleted by MS because a general Forum rant and not a 964RS specific issue. If you (a 'Non-Member) are not happy about the Forum in General, complain to Admin!!

And yes, if u have a problem, you WILL have to post it in more than one place, same as you would on Titanic and Rennlist.

BTW, what was the question?

Melv

I just don't believe this.

I have had my post edited for expressing an opinion.

Disgusting.

Harnesses on a Boxster...don't they damage your nails putting them on? [;)]

Like yer work Matt!!

<Blushes> Personally as a female Boxster owner I laughed! Sorry! I take that sort of ribbing every day. I like to think of it as a huge compliment that my car is beautiful enough for people to have noticed it in the first place.

I can offer moderating lessons, Melv. Very good rates - just one merkin for three sessions [:D]

This harmless highly amusing banter seems to have sparked another thread, which is now a three pager. which seems like a get-together for the reigning Olympic Whinging Champions.

I am reminded of the Monty Python sketch

"Is this the right room for an argument?"

"No, we are discussing harnesses"

"WHATDYA MEAN????? NO!!!"

Who'd be a moderator????[:-]

Hello Mr Bluebottle and welcome back to this Forum it's been a little time, I'm surprised you have chosen the now exhausted FIA Harness MOT thread to reappear....however I did say:

"and now for something completely different"

I would think that as this thread has been done to a Kipper now...it will be deleted soon.

Look forward to hearing from you again in an "ON TOPIC" Bluebottle speciality[;)]
