Macan breakdown

Brilliant result and all credit to the OPC and Porsche AG for doing the right thing by a loyal customer. I am sure that they will have traced the faulty part back to the batch and supplier and wouldnt want to be in their shoes!![8|]

Hi David

I'm thinking of purchasing a Macan , (petrol) model , so I've just started looking on here for faults and experiences and I came across this post , I too think that with the level of damage your engine suffered , a replacement engine was the only way forward and I would not have excepted anthing less myself. I'd like to think this is a "One Off" as not many modern engines these days have this problem, dropping a valve usually ends up catastrophic .
I take it this was an Exhaust valve?

Mark.

I am not an engineer but I believe that a valve stem broke (inlet/exhaust I don't know). When I took it to PC Nottingham for its service in October 2017 I was driving alone for once (!) and had it in sports mode, what a different beast. Definitely a Jeckyll and Hyde car, the Macan.

Not even the robots at the factory get it right all the time.

Currently a very happy Macan petrol S owner.

Just read through this thread. Awesome service & result.
I love my Macan even if it is just the Diesel model :)
