MAF group buy..

Would anyone be interested in getting together for a group buy on the Promax Scivision MAF?

As I understand it the savings would be 10% for 2, 12% for 3, 14% for 4 etc

As a PCGB member, we also get a £40 voucher redeemable against labour costs, equates to free fitting

Best

I assume you mean the whole kit of MAF and chip?

Count me in. I've been thinking about doing it for a while, but haven't been able to justify the costs.

So what is the group buy deal for the MAF kit plus one of your famous chip upgrades?

£550 all in?

Well. You're famous here.

But that's mostly because you keep on telling us about your products..... [:D]

Make me number 3.

I've always intended having the Scivison MAF from Promax once my engine is rebuilt, and after talking to Andrew this week, the 1.5 bar [] version will soon be ready. Lets hope it coincides with my engine being ready.

Progress has been made this week, and my engine bay is now totally empty, the old 2.5 block sold, and we await installation of the new 3.2 [:D]

I'm rather tempted I have to admit but I ought not to spend more on non essential bits at the moment (not that having a half cage painted & fitted could really be considered essential, which is what's currently going on [:D]).

However if the buy takes a while to take place there's a chance I might be able to squeeze it into the budget somehow (assuming tyres, insurance, MOT and a service don't eat into this too much []).

Just out of curiousity is there any reason this might not be suitable for use with a supercharger if I chose to go down this route in the future? I can't see any reason myself but am sure I read of a possible incompatibility somewhere (unless it was just that it required a custom chip burnt).

Best regards,
Peter.

Curses, I was hoping that'd give me a way out [;)]
I'll keep a close eye on the finances and see if it's possible, but please don't rely on me just yet.
Best regards,
Peter.

whats the time frame on this order... it is something I'd like but Im already chipped so its just the MAF i'd be looking at.

but having just had the KW's fitted and a new set of fuel lines the car fund is looking a bit [:(] at the mo....

Yes, bad timing for me as well - I am interested in the MAF plus the 1 bar chips but timing is not ideal. Just discovered we have a baby on the way so my lavish 944 mods list might have to be reviewed, but if we get up and over 15% and start knocking on the door of a 20% discount I am pretty sure I will be able to make it.

Suspension and brake mods will have to be pushed out a bit further though unless anyone knows anyone who wants a 4 month old Mini One - pretty good spec??

Er forgive my ignorance but what exactly does it all do?

[FONT=verdana, geneva"] [FONT=verdana, geneva"]It replaces the original flap type air flow meter with a mass air flow sensor using hot wire, which is a later generation of air flow measuring technology.[FONT=verdana, geneva"] [FONT=verdana, geneva"]The reason you would want one is that the AFM uses a sprung flap, which you can probably imagine is both restrictive and slow to respond.[FONT=verdana, geneva"] [FONT=verdana, geneva"]Congratulations, Scott.[FONT=verdana, geneva"]

Strewth, the kids not arrived yet and you are already looking at selling it once it reaches 4 months.

As keeper of a 9 year old I can only commend you on your course of action.

Nope, wish she'd get on with it. I get 2 weeks paternity leave and could do with it starting Monday, as I've got a shocker of a week at work otherwise []

You gainfully unemployed now, or have you found something else already?

I am gainfully employed for a little over 4 weeks. I haven't got anything lined up yet, though I have a few (3) interesting sniffs. All in Slough bizarrely (and unfortunately).

Slough. Home of the most bizare and probably safest advice ever given in a Copthorne Hotel....

Q: Is there anywhere to eat or drink round here other than the hotel?

A: Not really anything to eat, but if you want a drink, just don't turn left out of the hotel........

The next morning in the Taxi showed a number of burnt out reasons why!!
