major service quote

ORIGINAL: mohitos

Anyone happen to know if Porsche East London would offer a 10% discount on the service for PCGB members ? And whether they'd allow me to provide the oil ?
Possibly a question worth re-asking in the London area of the forum.
However most OPC will give the 10% discount and the majority will normally let you supply your own oil.
If they don't then I'd look at another OPC, most would be willing to collect your car to do the work.

I've only just join PCGB, so you won't have heard from me before. However, I was at Bolton OPC recently getting 2 rear tyres for 997 gen1 and got a quote for 4 year major service. They were keen to offer 10% and advised I consider supplying own oil if I wanted to save a bit more. The total for them to do everything was around £800 and appeared negotiable. With regard to the tyres, I have previously used an independent in warrington (Jefferies performance tyres), but I persuaded Bolton OPC to match their price which they did. Two rear Bridgestone NI rosso (295/30/19) for under £500 !!! fitted by an OPC.
Bolton OPC seem genuinely keen for service business and are happy to be competitive.

Welcome to the club forum Mike, sorry I missed this post the first time round.
I had an OPC offering an excellent deal on some Bridgestone tyres for my Turbo, the dealership was busy and I had to get tyre fitting centres to match the OPC!!
Sadly they were a little more than your £500 [:(]

Porsche East London is my local. They have indicated to me that I can supply my own oil and they will knock £130 off the bill. I have not enquired about 10% discount. Please do let me know about your experience when you have your service done.

All OPCs will give you 10% off the service parts. The rest is up to you to negotiate.

But be warned - let them know that you want the 10% discount when you book it in and at least before they make out the invoice. Otherwise they won't give it you. That happened to me a couple of years back.

Yes & Yes [;)]

Porsche servicing prices not so bad compared to my favourite alternative choice Aston Martin Vantage

1st year 10,000 Miles £585.90 inc. parts,labour, oils & consumable/Environmental charges

2nd year 20,000 Miles £765.05 ,, ,, ,, ,, ,, ,,

3rd year 30,000 Miles £678.71 ,, ,, ,, ,, ,, ,,

4th year 40,000 Miles £895.79 ,, ,, ,, ,, ,, ,,

All of the above prices are subject to the correct rate of v.a.t.

Yes you are correct David...I had a BMW E46 M3 before my 911 and it cost £998 for a level 1 service as they called it and there was nothing wrong with it...Porsche seem better value in that sense...
