Fellow 964RS Enthusiasts ....... the above Iconic Holy Grail was purchased I think three years back at Eynsham Auction by Herr Fencemeister ...... It has had a few outings around Oulton but never been displayed at any events etc ..... Can we persuade Colin that this the Doyen of 64's in every form gets an airing in our 20 Jahre forthcoming Cup Car celebrations, it would make a great addition to our Spa trip.....

I presume Colin still has the Green Beast, maybe a trip (register convoy) via Manthey with it to the Ring. The car must be priceless, bearing in mind the history, but we have seen little of it. [:D]

Edited for spilling...MS

I thought you'd bought it Des!

Yes would be good to get Colin on board for Spa 20 year anniversary tour.

Get it stickered up for the trip. Hoping to register mine too.

I've seen the car, but can't comment on the history.

Martin ?

If it is what it may be, it's a hot piece of metal ...

Good man Jimmy ..... I think Melv's is already road legal and we have a few more UK Cup Cars ..... less not forget the N-GT .... will make a great convoy with the Manthey car up front.... Rich could bring Butzi with all the polishing material ...

Mine may be road registered but it ain't goin on the road again -I like my air conditioned 4x4 tow car with cruise and music!!![:D]

and it went really quickly round Oulton at the RS day last year from what I hear from the lucky souls who grabbed a passenger ride with Colin. On rubbish tyres too I believe [:D]

Hello boys, having fun?

Me and Marc thought that Kermit should look its best for the 20th anniversary of its Championship title, so the poor wee beastie is now in 9m Panelcraft having all the nasty, racing repairs straightened out properly (the usual rear quarters & boot floor), whereupon it will be fully resprayed & liveried so it can return in glorious technicolour for the celebrations.

As for priceless, well, I don't know.

Everything has a price..... [;)]

... and on that note of livery, if anyone has got any high resolution photos or posters they could send to us we would appreciate it as we would like to get the graphics absolutely spot on.

Charles

That's correct. However, the car Manthey raced in 1991 was green, which finished fourth in the championship. I believe Colin's car was repainted at Chandler Stewart shortly before it was sold at Enysham Hall.

No, Manthey's car was the only green car which had a green interior & cage, indeed this is the key fact that has silenced a lot of speculators about Kermit. From Porsche records Kermit, or "9007" if you prefer, is the only car they produced in 1990 which was green inside and out.
There was, at some point in the 1990 or 91 season, another car raced in the same livery but that was definitely a white one painted green on the outside. Have a careful look at the photo's of Manthey leading a few races or on the publicity posters, you will see the tell-tale green cage inside the car. I have got some photos of the sister car with a white cage, from what I can make out it is probably a 91 car with cup mirrors on the doors rather than the 1990 style which has 935 pod mirrors on the glass frame.

Totally correct Herr 9mEister look at page 12 this Months Christophurus your car leading the rampant pack .......

Anyway .... I think Travis Perkins AG were also sponsors of the Manthey Cup Car .....[;)]

I have video from 1990 test and the car is P5 all over. Maybe it is a sister car but Manthey is driving and it has the Kuemmerling graphics.

Melv has copy of race he can show you.

Checked Diepholz video. Green one in poster but Manthey is in a white no.33 car. He must have pranged your one Colin and swapped to a spare Cup.

I may be wrong but my understanding is that Manthey drove a white car for at least some of the 1990 Carrera Cup races. There is no doubt that he also raced a green car during the 1990 season.

The only way to determine the above is to look at the Wagen Pass for the car(s) in question. They will have been stamped prior to each race (unfortunately, they were not all stamped with the race results).
