many of us using the turbo in winter?

I'm enjoying the tt during winter, the cold air is great for combustion and the 4 wheel drive comes in to it's own on the consistently damp roads.......it's the all weather supercar!

I sometimes get a little concerned about the salt attacking the underside of the car and putting it away wet on a cold night doesn't make me smile - but, it's a small price to pay for enjoying the car all year round.

Many others feel the same as me? - or reasons to store up etc.

Wonderful motoring, managed to get the car sideways on the mud and standing water over Exmoor yesterday. Had all the traction lights flashing up on the dash for a while. Yippeee :ROFLMAO:
Invest in a pressure washer for the muck!![]

The real story is you really just love cleaning and polishing your car!

Myself I just hate wasting the mileage on the mindless A34/M4 motorway trip to Bracknell, so wait for my cross country trips

I run the car at least once a month, but avoid the salt - slippery and 408BHP not good - But I do look for dry days to go for a blast.

The wee beastie does not benefit from sitting around for too long. Nor me neither.....

Had some great fun in the car so far this winter, only been wet so far mind you..
Used the previous car all year round [:D] as I will with this one.

How well does the 997 get it's 450+lbs of torque down in the wet Gary?

I use mine all year round, but never park up with the handbrake on.
In the wet ABS & the traction control light is constantly coming on. If they don,t I'm not driving hard enough. What a Fantastic car.
Roads around here in Southern Scottish Uplands are a bit bumpy, off camber and narrow to risk switching PSM off in the wet.
996tt X50 sports suspension etc[:)]

Nah!
Switch off the PSM - now that's entertaining![:)][:(][;)][:D]

I'm happy to admit I'm not the driving God I believe myself to be, so in the winter the PSM stays on[;)]
However totally agree, it would add something to the experience.. possibly not measured in smiles [][;)]

would be interesting to hear how the single-turbo/2wd boys cope in the winter?.... now that should be 'entertaining'.

Been using my GT2 frequently so far this winter (but not when salt on the roads)

Nice and steady seems to be the key!

Sadly, the 993tt doesn`t come out of the garage much during the winter months apart from the odd dry salt free day where it get a good run. There is just too much mud and crap on my local roads from those pesky farmers this time of year. Its a real pain having to clean it all off only to do it all again the next time out. Thankfully, seeing the 968 constantly cacked up is far less upsetting.

There's somebody in G registered G50 box 930 in red who drove from Ciren to Aldsworth tonight. Interesting how when I had one back in the late 80's it seemed like it was mightily fast. Holding me and the snapper up this evening[;)]

Its been a good winter so ive used mine more this year,Grit and salt, a big no no this year, it woud eat the chrome alive.

As long as there's no salt/grit covering our lovely roads, then I'm out in my GT2 at every opportunity! :p
