March Satuday drive

For those who like to get a move on, the last run was nice and responsible on the way out, but a bit more rapid on the way back . . . .

That's not to say though that the drive is a tear-up. One or two bods may want to shift on the way back, but the others will just drive at their own pace. No pressure whatsoever; this is just a friendly run for absolutely anyone in a Porsche.

is there room for one more, I will try and find the venue, but if you see this beforehand, advise the basic location. I'm coming down the m23

Hi all

Popped into Goodwood out of courtesy this morning to check all OK for today as Top Hat have privately hired the circuit, wanted to avoid the gate crash scenario. We are most welcome, great bunch there and some serious metal. Should be entertaining.

Nick

See you there The Gardeners is just north of Ardingly by South of England Show Ground entrance. Leaving 13.00 prompt.

Great afternoon, thanks for the route James.

That run back was along a fantastic road to South Harting - made the 924S work hard with all the family on board [;)] - got a few stern looks from the passenger seat at times [&:].......... thanks all, great drive and some interesting cars at Goodwood to break the journey.

Was everything OK with you and the car Nick? It was making good progress along the aforementioned road, despite your protest of only 130bhp

..........Phil

A big thank you to Rod and James for organising the run and the route-great fun.Look forward to more runs around sussex-roll on summer ,it was pretty damn cold at Goodwood!

Great day out, not spoilt by dumping a small amout of oil onto the exhaust. No permanent damage done. Thanks to all for making sure I was OK. I came back along the A272 rather than risk too may extra miles

Phil, power to you for hustling the 924, complete with family, so enthusiatically. I got the some complaints from my family in the back seat, but worded differently [;)]

James and Rod, excellent run out on Saturday. Jonathon, you missed an excellent squirt back through some country lanes. Following James's 997 through them was like a stream of Porsche guided missiles, excellent fun, just what these cars have been built for. It was at this time my son stopped eating all the sweets he had smuggled out with him, and transfixed his eyes on the back of this silver 997 hacking through the woods, with huge puffs of white salt as it hit's certain parts of the tarmac that hadn't been touched by black rubber. But every time I looked through the rear view mirror (expecting a blank space[;)]) there was the posse of Porsche's all shapes and sizes right behind me. EXCELLENT.[:D][:D]
My want list has been extended. WANT; wife that will come out and join in the fun, well done![;)] dog that will sit in the back of the car, at this pace and not throw up[;)] and not to go back where Nick dumped all the oil on the road[;)]
My son conclude post Big Mac, best day ever![:)] (Well he doesn't get out much[;)])
Thanks again, roll on the next one, certainly a must over the Easter period.

Thanks guys for a fantastic day out, Nick sums it up perfectly an excellent run out and a giggle on the way back. Nick next time we will try and join you for the Big Mac, we all really enjoyed the day and look forward to meeting again.

Thanks everyone for an excellent afternoon, and superb route; just what these cars are for (and their owners!), though the police car we met in the lanes coming back may still be trying to make out what was going on. . . . .See you all in April, if not before, and please remember that the date is not the 2nd Saturday next time!
Any offers for the route?

Hi All

Sounds like you all had a good blat on the return trip. Sorry I had to shoot off, but family was calling. Being late home was the perfect excuss I needed for a full on blast home and amazingly there was hardly any traffic. Great fun - Jeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeesus the RS is quick on the right roads!

Not sure if I can make April, but hopefully see you all at monthly meeting or soon after.

Here's the only pictire I took at Goodwood of our line up - put my car in pride of place as you can see.

We must practice parking in a straight line next time - there are 7 Porsches in this picture...

Phil
