Mike "Berg944" OK, But very dead Turbo

Glad to hear he's OK and on the mend. Things like this puts things into perspective and makes you realise that there is more to life than the 944!

Hello

Well some of you know Mike "Berg 944" and his VERY Green 944 Turbo.

Thankfully Mike is OK,or will be after a few more months in hospital, but alas the Turbo is dead.

Mike was trundling along at 30mph when a guy coming the other way also doing 30 woke up to see the traffic in front come to a stop, swerved and hit poor Mike head on and as you can see from the pics has totalled poor Mike's car.

They had to cut the engine out and most of the car as you can see to free Mike, he has been getting sorted for the last week in The Countess of Chester Hospital I believe. I spoke to him this evening and hopefully in a week or so will be chirpy enough to accept visitors.

Get well soon mate

Lee

I think I will pop and see him after the Rolling Road Day on the 12th Sept if everything goes to plan.

Thank goodness Mike is ok, that looks horribly nasty, and at only 30mph too !!!!!! Best wishes to Mike and hopefully a speedy recovery, with no lasting damage. Cars are replaceable

as a newbie to the site I don't know Mike, but i'd like to pass on my best wishes for a speedy recovery from another porsche owner anyway...

Let's hope Mike has a full quick recovery and that he is back in a Porsche for the Northern "ace cafe" meetings.

I too, wish Mike a speedy recovery-I don't think I would want a headon collision at 60mph(relative)-Nick knows full well how a 40mph rear end stuff feels.

Jesus, hard to believe that was such a low speed! I hope Mike recovers quickly, I'd hate to even imagine how he's feeling right now. Best wishes.

Ouch! That's not pretty. Lemon, please pass on my regards as well. As others have said, tinwork is replaceable. 'Tis very good that Mike survived. (And I have to confess that I didn't know his 944 was quite that green! Shame that it's on such a picture that I see the colour.) Oli.

Ouch, that looks very nasty - It looks like he was very fortunate (relatively speaking) to get out of that alive. Please pass on my best wishes as well and wish him a speedy recovery.

Lemon, If you see Mike pass on my best wishes for a speedy recovery. Shame about the car as I know how much Mike thought of it. Last time I saw it my 944 was parked next to his at Raby Castle. Cheers,

Lee, please pass on my best wishes to Mike. Closing speed of 60mph not nice in any car. It's not like anyone could fail to notice Mike's car in that colour as we know! Glad he is on the mend - after all of his biking adventures, it is sobering that he should be so unlucky in his pride and joy.

Glad to hear Mike is on the mend, shame about the car. We've all been in those situations and fortunately made it out so we know how fine a line there is between disaster and a close shave! Best of luck chap - hope you'll be out hunting for a replacement soon.
