You might be right John, but personally I would have expected the money to be paid at the same time as the agreement was signed and for there to be some plan as to what to do with it before agreeing to sign the contract in the first place. Anything else to my eyes either means the money was not required to the point the board don't know what to do with it or it has all gone toward filling a hole in the budget for this year which equates to buying the club out of problems caysed by bad management. Pick whichever you think reflects most glowingly on those involved in making the decision as I doubt we'll get enough transparency to determine the truth.
