Absolute tosh, I collected and fitted mine from OPC this week this is how it came: x2 bilstein front canisters / shocks, 2x bilstein rear, 2x rear bump stops, 1x front ARB, 1x rear ARB, 2x front ARB bushes, 2x rear ARB bushes, 4x -15mm springs

Phil Here is what should come in the kit: Parts shown with a * are superceded by later part numbers.

Thanks for both your help, I am so cross about this, I've waited since February have the car booked in for Monday as I am wanting to get it fitted before Classic Lemans and now they tell me they have to put a ticket in to Porsche which is an email system and wait to hear back from them. Surly this is not the service I should be getting. I will update you as and when I know more. Cheers Phil

I had a call yesterday form my OPC to say that the sports kit I ordered has arrived which was pleasing news! However I when I went to collect the kit I noticed it was missing the shocks, my OPC said this is how the kit comes?? Now I'm not that worried as people have said that the standard shocks with the sports springs are better for road use but I'm not sure if what I paying for is correct the parts are as follows.

P000 044 500 08 retrofit kit sp

P900 380 012 01 01 hexagon nut X 4

The kit comes with springs and anti roll bars and the total cost is a ÂŁ584.29 inc vat and 10 % discount.

I have it booked in to be fitted on Monday but would like some advice if this looks correct or if I should have the shocks as well.

Thanks Phil

That doesn't sound too good at all. I am too, as if you hadn't of questioned it you could have easily been taken for a ride, if they look up the kit in PET as Richard did, they could see what it comes with instead of fobbing you off. I mean, that said, the kit is exception value, one sports shock alone is over Ă‚ÂŁ300 if ordered separate to the kit (makes me wonder how they can do it for this price, it must be pretty much cost), but you haven't got what you have ordered. Thankfully the OPC parts department and center as a whole is very good in Swindon and I am on good terms with many of them, so I would expect to have a chat with them and have it sorted relatively quickly. That said, it's a non-stock item, so shipping of the additional parts will be required. That doesn't help you however in your current situation, so if I were in your shoes I would be down there raising a complaint in person, what with the time you have waited already, and the inconvenience of having to reschedule your car. Add to that the fact that they are trying to short change you! I would also take the kit back, request a refund and refuse the kit until it is given to you complete. Hope you get it sorted soon!

I think they don't know what they are talking about, and not trying to rip me off. I've just had a call from my OPC saying they are aware now that there is a mistake, and are in touch with Porsche to see how quick they can get a replacment system and will get it delivered to my door if need be. I just pray it's early next week otherwise I won't have it fitted and settled before Classic Lemans. Thanks Richard and Steve for your help as I sent it all this over to my OPC and i think they were surprised the detail I gave them. Phil

It drove out of the garage fine lol :D I've actually changed the number plate, so sadly I am waiting for my tax disc and new plates to be made up so it currently is not road legal :( A bit of a pain as I want to see what it has done to the car. Still, gives me something to look forward to :) I kept the -25/30mm springs I purchased not so long ago on the new set up, so it sits slightly lower and will be a bit stiffer again, but we will see how it goes. When fitting I noticed the shaft of the shock had the best part of two inches less travel than the originals! The front ARB is identical to the old standard one, but the rear has a lot more meat on it! Time will tell, I'll report back hopefully at the weekend if my paperwork arrives.

Update is that they had no reply from Germany however parts guy made contact and now the system is saying awaiting part to complete kit same as it had before, but he is going to make contact on Monday after speaking to his Manager to work out what they can do as its urgent. As a thought if they can't get the shocks as this is all I need would standard shocks work with this kit, I have a feeling Richard mentioned that he had standard shocks with m030 springs which worked well, I'm just trying to work out the best way round this, and to have a back up plan. Cheers Phil

I would wait for the whole kit, even if you had a discount or partial refund I don't think it could be worth it. If you are on original shocks, they could last another few years or few months, who knows, then you could be back to square one? I guess what I am saying is, if you are going through the trouble of having it off and replacing things, it may as well all be done at the same time. I had -25mm springs on standard shocks, which was fine until one started leaking. Cheers,

I won't run it on the old shocks get new ones, if they have a problem with getting the sports ones, but make sure the cost is the same if not less for my wasted time. I just wanted to see if this works well or not.

That's good to hear. Anyone else run standard shocks with m030 springs ? Nice to get some thoughts. Phil

That's what I thought, If this is the case Richard can you let me know what your thoughts are any draw backs by doing this ?

My C2 had factory M030 when I bought it. I found the ride a bit too firm for me, bearing in mind that the road surfaces in East Berks and South Bucks (one of the most expensive areas in the country) are absolutely dreadful. I fitted standard M029 shockers, which made the rice a little less harsh, but maintained the ride height and roll stiffness of the M030. For me, it was a reasonable compromise, but if I was living in Wales, I wouldn't have thought about it for a second. The few people who drove the car (who knew what they were doing) commented on how good it felt. It retained all the sharpness of M030, but the ride was just that bit more compliant. It might also be an age thing. To be honest, in the end it was the firmness of ride which led me to sell the Turbo - it was just getting to me more and more. I also found it embarrassing when I had passengers in the car. Had it been a weekend toy, it would have been different, but as a daily drive it was a bit too much for me. My Cayman has PASM, which is fantastic.

Thanks Richard, this is as I thought and maybe for me this is a good option, as the same for us the roads here are not the best. If they can get standard shocks quicker than sports version I will see if they will do them at the same price with all the hassel I have had. Cheers Phil
