Mo30 Suspension

This is becoming hard work. Latest, after 3 days of chasing this around been told to take the kit back and a new one will be sent out but they don't have answers form Porsche when a new kit will arrive, the parts chap also mentioned only 1 x kit has been supplied this year in jan, which I corrected him buy mentioning a friend had received his kit last week so how can this be the case (hope Steve you don't mind me referring to you as a friend but thought it may help) The very frustrated parts manager is now looking into in more detail and will have an answer for me today. It appers with all the communication we have these days I still can't get answers easily, I would never give my clients this level of service. Phil

Sounds like a breakdown in communication and they aren't totally aware of the facts. I hope that you can get it sorted soon. And that is no problem at all, I am sure I have been referred to as much worse :)

Your kit Steve was for a C2 mine is a c4 that is why yours has come in mine should not have been sent through just been informed, the next question is when will I get a new kit, maybe I will wait another 3 days for an answer. Phil

Hi Phil, Hows things going with this? I just took my 996 for a test since fitting all new suspension and brakes etc and she drives fantastic! The ride isn't harsh at all, but then I do have after market progressively wound springs instead of the stock M030 setup. I've not had chance to try her around the twisties yet, just ran a few errands in her but it seems really good so far :)

I find it ok on mine, I just go very gently over sleeping policemen. also when you guys had yours fitted did you use the yellow hard plasticy/rubber things?

Yup I popped the new bump stops on the back to stop it from bashing the older bigger ones. Although, I rarely, if ever noticed it touching them even with -25mm springs. Cheers,

Steve Thanks for asking, I never got the parts in time for Classic Le mans which I returned from yesterday, what a great trip. My OPC said that they would have an up date over the situation which I should hear some news this week, they have taken the parts back but I have still paid for them as I hope to have the kit soon. Pretty fed up with the level of service received from Porsche, as the OPC just can't get answers on what's going on. I hope the wait will be worth it. Cheers Phil.

Dont suppose you could get a picture of how you have them?

I hope it's sorted soon Phil. Chris, not sure I have a picture, I will check, but I just popped the old bump stops out and attached the dust cover to the new bump stops and popped them in place of the old ones.

Old ones not very visible in this one, but it's all I've got:

: Old Vs new, quite a bit shorter:

Here you can see the new one in the old ones place:

Why do you ask?

Ok thanks, the only reason i ask is that when my local garage fitted mine he didnt use them, without checking i wouldnt know what he used. He might have reused the rear ones, but he said he used cossie ones on the front as they are the same size. Mine is just the m30 kit so only a 10mm drop iirc compared to your 30mm.

I only hit the old stock bump stops perhaps twice with the lower drop, and that was out in some country estate with crazy size speed bumps! :) It also took a small chunk out of the bottom of my front bumper paintwork though! :(
