Modern 23rd May.......

ORIGINAL: nicholaswgmay
To my horror I discovered this one is a register secretary so should be supporting the club and setting an example not acting like spoilt child.
Can I say right now.. I don't own a yellow car [;)]
Nicholas, there is always one (actually usually driving a Ferrari [;)] ) which makes it a strange old day...
As part of the modern registers, Thank you for offering to help and I do hope you step forward again in the future..

I was lucky enough to spend the time within the grounds and didn't come across any upset owners luckily... it was too nice a day to let something like that ruin it.... although the backs of my legs are burning at the moment [&:]

My lad did have cricket, so couldn't get along to Silverstone until 3.00pm.[8|] Shame I missed seeing how busy things got, but did see and speak to several 'familiar faces' (as they say..)

Great weather laid on for us too. And Porsche GB did an excellent job of providing demo rides, etc. Certainly suffering a bit of the classic 'boiled lobster' look after spending morning watching cricket then afternoon helping Johnny and other marshals out, including the thankless task of taking everything down at the end of the day. Events need as many volunteers as they can muster to ensure things go smoothly - I feel sorry for Nick, and the unnecessary abuse he got from other members. Unfortunately, it seems to go with the territory. I agree with his comments - not worth letting something like that spoiling the day - you get out so much more by getting involved. Keep it up Nick !

Hi

Excellent event & well done to Chris with his Boxster 550 Spyder winning the best Boxster Class & I took the cake for my Birthday & I had a lovely day but Didn't win anything in the Concours but all the same I had a lovely Birthday, but I did get left with 12 Cakes as only John Bray & his son Matt come & saw me & Chris (spyderman) & he's friend but no one else come & visit me in the Concours area.

All the best & I hope to see you all from the Northants & Miltion Region at your Concours in August & tell then I almost forgot Mike Pike said hello to me later in the day.

Yours truly Kevin.

a post script to y earlier post; I have now received an apology from the gentlemean in question which is graciously accepted, it was a hot day and there are obviously club politics involved that we occasional members don't get involved in.

Thankyou.

and a lift in the Panamera was nicer!

Yep, that was a highlight after the dust bowl. Ooh, luverly air-con blowin' icy cold! Good to meet you again Nick - see you all at the Silverstone Classic, if not before[:D][:D].

And... Politics + PCGB = Very Boring! I think true enthusiasts see through this stupidity[;)].

... but I did get left with 12 Cakes ...
I should have taken mine when I first saw you!

The best Boxster win was most unexpected - I had no idea the "infield" cars were being judged - just as well I'd washed it on the Friday evening. I didn't even think to wipe the dead flies off before we left the car to go on our wander!

Just posting photos now...

Nearly as many Boxsters as Belvoir Castle last year:

A stunning 914 - never seen one in as good a condition:

Well done on the award! Carrera "˜guts' would make a nice off roader, with a couple of minor mods[:D][;)]

Sorry for being a bit slow off the mark, but I should (and do [8|]) congratulate Chris V on winning "Best Boxster" at the weekend. Well done[:)]. Keep it up!!
