Wow, I could buy that and the wife would never know I have spent a additional 21 grand over and above my current Cab.

Is this the most expensive 944 available ?

Yours is an S2 isn't it?

The turbo cab is one of the rarest variants, in any condition it's desirable to a collector or long term speculator. Although I agree it's probably £8-10k over the odds it has the right spec, the right colour combo & the right history.

Is it my old eyes or do those front rims look like regular 7" S2 D90s rather than the 7.5s it should have?

No. Mines possibly the oldest turbo still on the road in the uk and worth less than 3,000
I was just making the point (in a fun way) that the value of something is what someone will pay
Not a dreamy asking price [;)]

Yes, do realise theat the Turbo Cab is the rarest 944, just thought it was funny I could spend 21 grand more than mine is worth and nobody notice, I bet the wife wouldnt twig, would just say I paid
a tenner for a Turbo badge off eBay.

I thought that the wheels didnt look like the ones on a Turbo coupe, just like on mine, the car looks identical save the turbo badge.

I know mileage matters but not sure how many collectors with 25 grand are out there to buy a 944, like has been said, it is probably 15 grands worth, even at 15 there cant be that many people with 15 to drop
on a 944, dotn want to talk the prices down and we all know they are, by and large undervalued.

Pity they didnt make more turbo cabs, only 43 left according to Howmanyleft, I think the rarity is significant but how many people actually know or care.

I guess it just makes our look like the bargains they are [:D]

You can get some seriously nice old air cooled porsche for that price.

Yep, definitely, there is also a lot of rusty, not that fast, 80's tastic, automatic, targa shite masquerading in that bracket as well, The PH classifieds makes me laugh out loud sometimes with the optimistic comedy pricing.

It has been advertised at £25k for quite a while, as with all things it is worth what someone is willing to pay for it?

Due to mileage, condition and rarity I would say it was nearer £16-19k if it is in as good a condition as it looks [:)]

It will be the most expensive anywhere, their prices always seem to be seriously OTT!

Whilst the one owner history and mileage is almost unique, I can't get my head around the servicing. Regardless of mileage, I'd want oil changes more than every 5 or 6 years. []

But then if low mileage is the cars biggest asset you can't drive it as every mile you add will reduce its value.

Low milage, and sleeping, cars always concern me as I worry about how they are "woken up". If a car has stood for several years all the lubricants will have drained into the sump so the first turn over may be the equivalent of 10K miles(?) in the life of a normal car I would guess.

Having done the sums - if a 100K mile car is worth £10K and a 26K mile car is worth £25K you will knock 20p off the value for every mile you drive.....except it would be an exponential curve (or something) so the next 10K miles might cost you 50p per mile or more.

We all like a low mileage car but I think too much focus is put on it, to me it just means the other owners didnt use it enough, it is a factor but not one that warrants it being 10 grand dearer, would rather have one with some miles that has been used and maintained rather than a museum piece.

Its a rare car, with very few RHD Turbo Cabs being made, but approaching 30,000 isnt a particularly low mileage and it has, of course, the expected Malton tax...

When the supply is one, there only has to be one buyer. It's not like anything that's available in numbers, like a tin-top Turbo or an S2 Cab, you can't just pop out one weekend and go look at half a dozen that are for sale in any condition, never mind with 26,000 miles on them.

Looking at other marque classics as comparable a nice BMW M6 is for sale at Munich legends for less than £20K and there aren't many of those left. A e46 csl is low supply and around £25-30k. Not to mention a 996 gt2 being another low build number car that can be had for mid £30s to early 40s. You would have to be a 944 die hard to pay that asking but as someone mentioned you just need one punter.
