Is there still a weekly R10 ride on Saturday mornings at Brickhill woods ??

Or was this only you fair weather cyclists ??

I'm up there tomorrow morning if anyone is about ??

Glenn.

Can't do this Saturday but Sunday AM is good.

Are we talking about a proper pedal or a poodle?

Brian,

Soz, can only do Saturdays for the forseeable, but keep me in the loop as and when you lot go out.

As for the ride, I usually start off from my House in Furzton and cycle through Brickhill and end up doing a 19-20mile loop of MK so the longer the better for me............

Glenn,

Went out early for a quick ride before work this morning to start the old heart muscles pumping again.

Rugby season has just started so Mackie's taxi's will be required on a Sunday morning which in turn will make Saturday my preferred biking morning. Unfortunately wakeboarding season hasn't quite finished yet so can't do tomorrow or next Saturday but then that is the end of water based fun for another year.

Did you all really need to know all that ? - sorry.

Bottomline is I will be very keen to do an early Saturday, every Saturday ride from the end of this month (after I come back from the 996 register Jersey jolly).

Big Mac - are you up for a ride next Sunday 19th ?

Andy J is always cycling around the woods on a Saturday morning looking for friends ..

PS Is anyone still up for a nice big all dayer at the end of October/early November along the Ridgeway ? We will need a few helpful wives/partners to pick us up though..? See my thread here

19th is good, since the 18th is the autojumble.
Hopefully I'll bring my new Airborne out for a play - unless someone wants to borrow it (Steve?).

And definitely on for a big ride through the Chilterns.

P.S. Are you sure Andy isn't still lost from the last time we went out together?

P.P.S Who's going to the 997 launch party this Thursday evening down at Silverstone OPC?

Hi Guys,
I am doing about 30km per day now so hope to be fit enough to ride with you guys by Xmas.
At present I am riding round the lakes on the flat and looking forward to getting up into the hills.

Sounds good. I'd be up for a pedal around the Peake district.

We're off to Thetford for the day this Saturday (12/2) if you want to tag along. We are also organising a marathon S.Downs ride from Winchester to Brighton near the end of May.

Other than that we are always exploring routes around R10 each weekend.

Brian,

Thanks for the offer for this w/e, but it's a bit too soon for me yet.

Please keep informed of any other rides, in the next month or so though.

I think our plan is to set off early Saturday, ride most of way and stay in a BB on the Saturday night to then have a short pedal down into Brighton on the Sunday. Interested?

We'd better start firming the logistics (and numbers) and our get-fit plan then.

The Thetford pedal was awesome - I'm sure Graham can confirm from his GPS, but I think we did 20 miles. Steve 'the whippet' Darnell did the right thing in convincing some locals to let us tag along, although I wish they had shown us the way back to the visitors centre. It is so easy to get lost in those woods. And despite the jibes from me, Andy's mudguard certainly did the job. Without any crud catcher on the bike my face looked like a cow shed wall [8|]
And following a thorough clean up of my bike afterwards I can confirm I had zero brake pads left.

I'd like to aim to get an 'away day' pedal in each month if we can.

Anyone for Woburn or the Brogborough route this weekend?

I wish they had shown us the way back to the visitors centre

I think they showed us about 4 ways back, but whilst they spoke English, we were listening in "Hungry" mode...

Good fun ! - I'm taking Darren and Paul round in the next few weeks - I so enjoyed the fact that with 120 miles of singletrack in the forest, we only did about 20 of them !

All that undiscovered mud-opportunity.

Woburn please - not sure I am ready for the landfill experience just yet ..

Shall I put together a Woburn 20k 'er - perhaps we can take in the deer park ?
