Mountain biking

I'm up for either.

If we do Woburn then we could put Steve in the lion enclosure and see just how fast he can go! I suppose he'd only need to be faster than me though :) (Which he is!)

Cheers

Andy

Given that the land fill route is 28.4 miles on the GPS, surely we want to do more so that we can build up for the marathon S.Downs?

I don't mind to be honest - I enjoy the social as much as the pedalling.

Good news, bad news

Good news - got all the new drivetrain fitted - chainset, casssete, new chain, new shifters the lot and all works well[:D]

Bad news - sought advice from Manitou about shortening the travel adjustment cable (washing line?) and had a go at it last night. Result = no more air in forks just a hissing sound when I try to pump them up. Up until 1 am trying to sort out last night.[X(]

Bike into Corley today and hopefully they will be able to rectify in time for the weekend.

Am afraid I can't do Sunday Steve as big Rugby match in the morning. Will be at Woburn for 9.00 am on Saturday (bike permitting) with Richard on a loaner all the way from Fiji.

Steve - can u do Saturday if pushed ?

Will confirm Friday night that bike OK.

New motto - If it ain't broke don't fix it - even when your mates thake the p*ss[:)]

Blimey - Corleys close early after Graham goes shopping there. [:)]
I think the only parts unchanged in the latest refit are his frame and seat!

No can do Saturday AM unfortunately, but if anyone wants to join me on the Sunday? [&o]
I could consider a Saturday PM, possibly finishing in the dark or is that too scarey for everyone?

I can still do Saturday (prefferred) or Sunday morning or both!

Furkling with the bike today found that one of my rear brake pads had completly worn away! Thats with a max of 5 hours riding! Bike is in to Phil Corleys to get the mount faced on Friday but Richard assures me it will be done by the afternoon.

Cheers

Andy

PLAN ?

How does this sound

Meet @ Bow Brickhill sandy crossroads (top of the hill)
... 3:30pm....blast out for a couple of hours (perhaps taking in a bit of woburn park)....As the light fades, hit the lights for extra adrenalin rush !

Sound OK ??

If you are interested.,..(even if not from R10..please call in)

STEVE

'want to come on this, but 3:30pm is a bit late for me, as i'm going on hols later that
evening.

can only do 12-1ish.

P.S.
isn't the Sandy crossroad further on from the top of the steep hill ?

Glenn

This weekend is going a bit pear shaped as everyone seems to have conflicting commitments.

Like you I cannot do the afternoon or Sunday AM so will be at the sandy crossroads for Saturday AM (early as practical) with Richard (fiji man) and Andy Jones - are you interested ?

Mail me your mobile number for up to the minute texts on the plan

Sunday 27th - 8am - Woburn sandy crossroads for a blat around the woods and the Stockgrove country park loop.

You have options... Sat AM - Brian and Andy blasting around the fields / lanes and puddles close to Brian...(Chicksands) - I'm off to see some cars @ this little place 5 miles from my house - Bedford Autodrome - ever heard of it [;)]

Sunday - I won't be out until later, coz' I'm going to be bleary eyed from watching the GP. I would happily partake in something later, but it would not be a record breaker.

MTB ride out from R10.

Meet @ Brian M (Big Mac) house - contact him for details - for a 8:30 to 9:00 (a.m. Glenn [;)]) start. We'll be out for a couple of hours around the Milbrook loop and beyond.

Riding pace will not be flat-out as such, but perhaps brisk in parts.

All welcome*

* especially if you have just fitted clip pedals and are happy to fall off in style.
