Guys,

Here is a pic of my 964, C4 manual. Had it since May last year. Has an RS Clutch and flywheel, rear wiper delete, G Pipe, Cup2s, H&R red springs. This weekend am going out to buy some sorely need Bilstein dampers that I intend to fit myself as well as some RS engine mounts.

Hi Jack, I feel like I've known your car just as long but have yet to see it! All because of Rennlist of course [:)] Fitting the RS mounts is an easy job but you'll need some one to hold a socket on the top of the bolts when you do them up.

Hi Steve! Not noticed you on Rennlist... what is your username there? Anyhow, thought about time i got on here too, and maybe became a member of the club. Not cheap though.. my Mercedes membership was only Ă‚ÂŁ25 a year!

Hi Jack, I'm Boxsey on most other forums. Regarding membership, I've always benefited well from it when buying original parts (which is quite often for the 964!). e.g. I've just bought a new rear light unit and got 15% off normal retail price. That's already paid for half of this year's membership fee. [:)]

are u guys signing up for the Silverstone 911 parade lap at Silverstone Classic......might be a tad slower than Spa but fun nonetheless.

Bought some Bilsteins from Type911 and some spacers, 18mm at rear and 6mm at front. Currently I have H&R reds and was going to use those but driving the car this weekend really made me feel it is too stiff. Now thinking of going with H&R greens instead, but a bit pissed about having to splash out even more cash. Is there a lot of difference in feel between the greens and reds? I've seen the figures but not sure how that equates in real life...

Again, as previously covered, it's a personal thing re level of stiffness and everyday use blah blah.. However, all I can say from the set up I have - Bilstens like yours - and H&R greens, is I love it. Those added on and of course a complete geo change from Chris Franklin (essential and complimentary imho) transformed the handling without loosing normal driving comfort. Within 1 week of having my C4 back I was in the French Alps in the summer with a massive grin and occasional laughter playing games with locals and their tricked up Clio's and Megane's [:D] The level of confidence under heavy braking going into a bend and then release and flat on the gas coming out was excellent with zero change in car attitude. Each to their own I guess...

Ok, some of you may have seen this on rennlist already.. but here is the progress I am making so far. Have changed the shocks to new Bilsteins, took me a couple of days and will then take car to Porsche Byfleet to get the Geo done as per the settings on Marcus' car. below an update on the diet as well.. Updated figures for weight reduction: Removed so far in Kgs: Tools: 0.54 Front Fogs:1.1 Spare tire: 13.4 Rear under-tray: 4.97 Tray bolts: 0.15 Tire Pump: 1.2 *Car Jack: 2.04 Rear Seat backs: 6 Rear footwell carpet: 0.7 *Cat bypass: 10kg (est) *Rs flywheel: 10kg (est) Rear wiper delete: 6 Intensive wash reservoir: Still need to weigh *Rear Belts: 2.2 *Rear gas struts: 0.48 *Frunk carpet: 2.3 Total so far: 61.44Kgs!!! Still need to remove: Stereo and speakers Rear Shelf Sunroof Delete: Might just take motor out for now as not working anyhow Doorpanels and replace with RS Rear Heater Bypass pipe (5KGs est) Also want to replace the rear deck with a duckspolier (7KGs estimated Saving), go with a carbon bonnet (14KGs est saving) and Recaros (13Kgs x2 est) . Target reduction is 100KGs.. will take pics at some point of all the stuff removed so far.. As far as my use of the car is concerned none of this has diminished the car's usability on the road. The engine needs a rebuild. I have spoken to Nick Fulljames and will book the car in for october/november. She smokes a fair bit and is using a lot of oil and the leakdown confirmed it needs doing. As a nice sideline I am going to bring up to RS spec: -Blue print top end rebuild. Valves, valve guides. Refirb cam housing. Reface heads -Piston ring ring replacement if the barrels and pistons are serviceable. Cam chains and guides Heavy duty head studs -Change the big end bearings and the rod bolts -Cup cams. with an upgrade on the exhaust and remap it should give 300hp plus or minus 5% Strip and powder coat fan and housing and re-plate hubs and pulleys GRP trays for around the engine (weight saving) Will post more on this in a few months

Jack, I am returning my 964 RS to factory spec, so will have a few bits that might be of interest to you...... Off the top of my head you may want my carbon bonnet (currently black, but easy enough to respray), a set of OE Cup 1s, also have full plug and play MoTeC set up and half cage (though those last 2 items might be spoken for). Bound to be some other bits I haven't thought of..... I'm in no great hurry and will be doing the work on the car slowly over the summer, so let me know if you're interested. thanks, Jamie

ORIGINAL: ras62 Rear wiper + motor is just over 2kg
That is a widely quoted figure for motor, wiring and assembly but it was already removed on mine so one of few items I could not weigh myself... The 2kg quoted by ras does seem more likely... Anyone else know?

Definitely. Have emailed you

I cut out carbs last year and lost a stone (6.35Kg in Euros). I can feel the speed and acceleration now - and that's just me! [:D]

Carbon bonnet, courtesy of Jamie... will weigh it tonight, for now a couple of pics. It also came with the RS bonnet prop so i can get rid of the gas struts for more savings.. Unfortunately it is painted black and will have to stay that way till my whole car is done next year. Also got some CUP1s from Jamie but they are currently away being refurbed..
