Very Excited to show off the first pictures of my new Cayman which the dealer kindly sent me this morning. She is off to Topaz now for a front and Sill PPF

Main options/choices below:

  • GTS interior package Carmine Red & GTS interior package -
  • PORSCHE’ logo painted in Satin Black
  • 20-inch 718 Sport wheels painted in Platinum
  • LED main headlights including Porsche Dynamic Light System Plus (PDLS Plus)
  • Light design package
  • Electrically folding exterior mirrors including courtesy lighting .
  • Automatically dimming mirrors with integrated rain sensor
  • Multifunctional Steering wheel
  • Sports seats Plus (2-way, electric)

Additional options I added along the way:
  • Leather Steering wheel casing with stitching
  • Dashboard trim package leather/Race-Tex
  • Sun Visors - Race Tex
  • Storage compartment lid in Race-Tex with Porsche Crest
  • Door sill guards in carbon, illuminated

Smashing! Looks great Carl.

Hope the PPF and handover process goes smoothly and look forward to hearing your impressions after the first drive.

Jeff

Thanks Jeff,

I did notice I didn't win the tyre lottery and have Pirelli's, I would have much preferred the Michelins.

Those platinum wheels look fantastic with the paintwork. The carbon sills look a good 'clean' choice as well, will you let me know what they are like to live with?

Looks awesome.

I wouldn’t worry too much about the Pirelli’s. The new PZ4 compound has got some good reviews and I can honestly say they are much quieter than the PS4S’ I had on my previous Cayman.

Top tip. Check your tyre pressures. Mine were all over the shop and setting to 30 psi and ticking ‘comfort pressures’ in the MFD the ride is perfect.

Hope you have many miles of smiles.

Dan.

Cheers guys,

Jase,

When I get the car I'll follow up with some pictures and my thoughts of the carbon sills for you.

Dan,

Great top tip! noted!

Well done and lucky you Ryan, that’s a gorgeous colour combo - looks very ‘prestige’.

Nice spec too.

You got yours from East LDN OPC didn’t you? How was the collection experience?

mines due in early Sept (of Russia turns Germany’s gas back on on the 21st), and I hope I can collect her on my actual 50th birthday later in the month.

interested to hear your thoughts on the topaz PPF, I’m intending to get the from and sills package also.

enjoy the miles and smiles in your new P&J 🏎🥰👍🏻

Cheers guys,

Windy, I got the car (well due to pick up Wednesday) from Porsche Colchester, the car is currently at Topaz receiving PPF and ceramic coating, the communication thus far has been great and they sent me some progress shots. I will in due course update on the outcome and whether I feel it is a good approach.

I would insert some pictures but this forum makes it quite difficult to do so, but below is a shared folder of the pictures I've had thus far from Topaz.

Just got a phone call from Gautam at Topaz to tell me my vehicle is just being loaded and heading back to the dealership for pick up tomorrow. I have to say I've been really impressed with the communication and interaction at Topaz, a really first class service. I have yet to see the car in flesh but what I've seen so far is pretty amazing.

This is great news Ryan 👍🏻, you must be beside yourself with excitement and anticipation.

I’ve been messaging with Gautam this past week also in prep for my car arriving at the OPC early September as I’ll be going for a level 2 correction and detail, full front end PPF and complete ceramic.

Look forward to hearing your report on their finished job once you’ve collected your P&J 😁

Gorgeous car Ryan. I bet you cant wait.!![:)]

I think the GTS 4.0 will be a timeless classic, and a pinnacle in the Cayman/Boxster journey..

A real keeper that one..!

Ed

Looks great, I have a manual CGTS on order in Agate Grey too!

Out of interest how much did you pay for the PPF/ceramic at Topaz?

Can I ask how you're getting on with the race tech interior given most of the seat is race tech as opposed to what they do in a 992 GTS ?

I've got a build date of October and am still undecided on whether to stick to the GTS interior or go for full leather as I now have.

Salesman tells my resale value with the GTS pack is better but I suspect the steering wheel and seats could go to look a bit scruffy if I touched them with greasy skin eg sun cream ?

Thanks

Keith

Your sales guy is talking tosh. The GTS interior package doesn’t increase the resale value much of at all.

The race-Tex is excellent as long as you look after it. Leave the steering wheel for any period of time and it will get matted and look like it’s worn away. As long as you clean it with a dedicated alcantara cleaner and give it a gentle brush from time to time then you’ll be fine. The other option is to wear driving gloves, as I do, to reduce the amount of sweat and greasy transfer.

The only sensible option is to get what you want and prefer rather than trying to second guess resale values. I would be crazy to get something you don't like and have to live with just in the hope that it will be worth a few quid more. Understand that if you go for leather, then come trade-in time the sale guy will tell you race-tex is worth a lot more; but if you go for race tex then they'll tell you leather is worth far more.

It's a game they like to play.
