You don't tell us how many quotes you have received, but Lockton and Hiscox are generally two of the more expensive sources for modern 911's.
It's useful to shop around. []
I always think a couple of hours on the phone to save a four figure sum on car insurance is well worth the effort. []

+1. I changed mine from 12k to 18k and it made no difference to the premium quoted.

I've just swapped my 2014 Cayman S for a 2017 991 C2 and am wondering whether to bother with the tracker. The car was originally a demonstrator for Porsche Hatfield and the tracker has never been registered. My local (if you can call Cambridge local -its 65 miles!) OPC will happily register the tracker for me for a small fee (45mins labour) but I'm not sure I want the hassle of having to remember the fob when I drive (shame you can't program your iPhone to do the job). Is there any significant saving on the insurance if you have it working?
I'm with LV at the moment and they charged me about £100 to swap the policy which expires in September - I think I paid around £400 for the Cayman so would be expecting c£600 for the new car.
There are pluses and minuses but the pluses far out weigh the minuses and this time around they were far more professional than my previous dealings with them and made me feel as though they cared and wanted to deal with me.
Turns out Dylan that there may well be some truth in what you say in terms of risk for the under-writer. According to Manning UK, Bristol is within area 29 which is about half-way towards area 60 (I think it goes that way) which is the dearest area in which to insure a car. Manning quoted £1237 as against my current £1250 from AIB (Hiscox) and Lockton was £100 less. Anyone else from the Bristol area suffer like this?!dyllan said:Bristol is a renowned dangerous place ??

I wonder if Swindon is considered more or less risky than Bristol...?! [8D]
