My Pain. Whats your worst experience ...

" then still thinking about the call drove it back hit the brakes which sent the pedal straight to the floor and I bounced of the garage door. "
Good one. Especially with a signature of "The skill is in the corners".

Hi Kevin

Some %*$£ reversed into the front of me while I was parked in Jurys this afternoon and left a nice big dent in my badge panel. Looks like it must have been a tow bar, but difficult to tell! Anyway, remembered reading about your run-in with the bricks, and was wondering where you got your damage repaired and if you'd recommend them?

Kevin,
Glad you were unhurt after the brick hit your car.....hope it's sorted now? I used to drive that stretch many a late night coming back from a gig I'd be doing out that direction so I know exactly the spot you mention.

Greg,
Bummer about the badge panel but it shouldn't be a major deal to sort it out....

My wife and her sister were driving in Georgia a few years back, it was late at night and out of nowhere a bullit shattered the windscreen and lodged in the rear seat, missing them both by inche's!! They stopped the car and called the feds but the culprit(s) had long dissapeared.....the cops said it wasn't the first time someone decided to take potshots at motorists on that stretch of interstate......CRAZY OR WHAT?????

John Daly.

Friend of mine had an Aston V8S (automatic)

Got it for a good deal, then spent loads having the fuel injection sorted by a specialist when Bosch failed []

Decided to have a few rusty bits sorted, the person (of impeccable repute) failed to remember that it was an auto and revved it when sorting out a few issues and took out the brick wall at the end of his workshop[][]

Rather than go on insurance my mate (5 yrs ago) said he would accept a ful rebuild etc in the guys own time. Its now complete and my mate has an absolutely immaculate Aston.

Mind you he did buy a Jensen Interceptor to run around in the interim.....................[8D]

No probs with the 993 yet; only had my brand new Golf for two weeks, someone broke in via rear window, didn't nick anything, but £500 damage, not long after stopped overnight in Lake District found car had been keyed along every panel, it certainly took the edge off ownig a new car.

Kev, count yourself lucky...

2 incidents in recent years on the M3 between Camberley and Hook similar to yours. Camberley saw a lorry driver killed by a brick through the windscreen in 2003 and I think the Hook incident was around 1997 and resulted in a very serious injury.....

Porsche Chiswick (West London) - took my car in for Major Service, handed back with scratches all over, a major ding on the wing, 30 miles on the clock for testing in 1 day.
They try to charge me for stuff like air bag test which other dealers dont - and the car developed a nasty mis-fire after major service.

After a lot of hassel they repaired the damage but leaves a nasty taste. How can OPC call themselves professional when stuff like this happens.

Greg,
Bad luck. Thats not nice. They know bloody full well that they have damaged the car and yet just drive off eh.
I got my car resprayed and teh body work done by a guy called Joe Williams who operates a bodyshop just at the back of baggot street. Across from the Henry Grattan pub on Baggot street there is a lane "lad lane" and if you were to go down there and immediate left after about 30 feet you will see his shop down on the right hand side. He was very decent with price and the bodywork is still being admired (mostly by myself). Any questions, drop me an email. kevin.shally@o2.com
Thanks,
Kev

Thanks for that Kev. Thats only about 5 minutes walk from where I'm sitting at work right now, so might even duck down there at lunch and get him to take a look. Glad to hear yours worked out ok!

Say hello to Joe from me and be sure to let me know how you got on. He was the guy who did the full body re-spray of the car and also the bonnet repair. He is usually very busy, but I usd to work there on baggot street myself so it was very handy for me. Down on the liffey now. frozen.
Kev.

About 13 years ago, my boss told me to take his '71 911 coupe to have new discs & pads fitted the next day as they were so worn it needed an anchor to slow down.

I thought it would be a better idea to take it home with me that Sunday night and drop it in to the workshop on the way to work the next day.

About half way to work, a bus in front of me stopped, but the 911 didn't.

Headlight glass shattered and wings crumpled in slow motion.

Upon seeing his damaged 911 he fired me on the spot.
