My Porsche journey (AKA Search for Nirvana...)

One more thing...

Engine oil consumption: The guys at HARTECH warned me that the modified engine will consume a bit more oil than before. After 1.600 miles, it just dropped one level on the central screen gage indicator dislayed at startup and is currently seating right in the middle so not bad at all.

As I am due to change the oil at 2.000, I don’t think I’ll have to top it up.

Greetings all,

A micro update today with some pictures of the paddle shift integration to my new steering wheel.

Whats-App-Image-2021-05-24-at-16-58-59.jpg
I really like the limited footprint of the paddle that should not obstruct the view on the gauges & dials.
Whats-App-Image-2021-05-24-at-16-57-49.jpg
Looks like it has always been there and cannot wait to see how different my driving will be with these two and the tiptronic box [:)]

The car is also getting the "Bike's strike" fixed so should be ready on time for the June Club social events.

More soon!

Great project, and a great thread! You really are tailoring the car to exactly what you would like.

On a personal note, what module did you use for the blue tooth integration?

Hats off to you, and keep us posted.

Hello all,

She is back!!!!

Many pictures to follow in the coming days but let's start with the most important of the upgrade performed this time around. The gear shift paddles integration on the new steering wheel... As expected, all the gauges & dials still very readable.

I only drove the car 10 miles to get back home but it is a complete transformation of the driving experience (for the BEST)...

Greetings,

As promised some new pics to give you some ideas of the work done this time.

Steering wheel paddle shifters:

Very professional integration work done by my inde (Porsche Brookland) despite numerous challenges (wiring seemed to have been trickier to figure out than anticipated - Diagram I got on the internet was not accurate) but as always, they have managed beautifully!! Honestly, doesn't it look like a factory option to you??

Probably the one I am a bit disappointed with... I wanted them to integrate it to the wing completely and instead it looks a bit like it is sitting on it, so I am going to send it back to the shop to redo it my way. What I am looking for is a shape like the SINGER spoiler (just a bit smaller). That's not really bad but not just there... yet...

Just a quick message to let you know that I am selling my previous steering wheel and thought I would offer it to the Porsche GB community first.

It is a stock 997.1 sport steering wheel that has been professionally modified by a company in Germany (Race sport trim).
