[;)] Seen it. Sat in it. Sold on it [8D] and thats before I've even driven or heard it Car looks FABULOUS in the FLESH

New Sports Seats are extremely comfy and appears to be slightly wider than previous example offered.

I sat in 2 GT Silver examples that had colour coded side vents! Am waiting to hear if this is standard NCO when ordering one of the 5 Special colours on offer for those who dare to be different :ROFLMAO:

Your querying if it's a NCO with a special colour.

And your saying that it's a £1500 option for base colours and met's?

Sorry I was being flip [;)] All I am saying is the GT Silver cars had GT Silver Vents which makes me think it maybe a NCO if you order one of the Special Metallics [&o]

Well it wasn't such a daft satement, after all this is Porsche were talking about.

Will someone be checking with them at one of tonights events?

Mine is not until tomorrow.

Car looks FABULOUS in the FLESH

I'm so glad to hear that. Looking forward to my 1st real look at the inside tonight.[;)]
************************************************************************************************************

[8D] I look forward to receiving your views and don't drink too much sparkling water [;)]. It was nice to be able to sit and soak up all the vast changes that have occured since the last model and this new one. Everything feels and looks so right in the flesh and I personally think the rounded dash mould is even nicer than the flat 997 arrangement.

The front end has a nice aggresive look to it and gives the car incredable road presence, especially, as it was parked in the car park amongst the older models I could instantly see what a good make over this 80% new Boxster has had. The flared arches are a great touch too all in all I am busting for the next phase "A Drive"

The outside does look good doesn't it?
I could tell that from the disgused one I pored over 18 months ago at Weissach. The flared arches don't show on photos, but in real life they are definitely there!
Thought the very flat wheelarch edges were a bit strange though. Are these still noticable?

How many of us tonight (and over the next few days) are going to bug the hell out of the sales-bods by asking about body-coloured side intakes?[;)]

The flared arches are a nice touch, adding some drama and I can't say my eye was drawn to the flat edge at all. I was also pleasantly surprised with the standard "S" wheel which looks very nice even when parked alongside the 19" alternative option.

The outside looks good in a very masculine fashion but the major visual changes are to the interior which is dare I say vastly improved! I always liked the original cars unique interior styling but the new car looks and feels so much more classy and as thats where the owner will be spending his/her time it a big step up for sure. The new seats excellent, new pedal box adds valuable inches and then there is the fully adjustable steering wheel all this making an ideal driving position much easier to achieve.

All in all well done Porsche [8D]

The side vents all come in 'titanium' which I think looks the same as GT silver. I asked an OPC how much it'd cost to spray them - was told 2oo quid each. A different OPC said 300 quid for the pair.

Shall we see how many different variations we get on this.....

I'm not going until tomorrow.

Mark, as you are going to a launch every night this week, can you remember to ask?[:D]

[&o]CORRECT they look like GT Silver so it's back to local INSURANCE (not Porsche) approved bodyshop for a quote to paint vents
to match

I did mention to the Dealer Principal that they needed to be body colour on mine, but he responded with the predictable "I think they look great - especially on the darker colours".

Perhaps we should start a new quest. Find a salesman that agrees they need changing...[8|] (I think the sales manual will have counters such as this to all our "concerns" - and then some!)

They'll look fine with some of this![&:]

Without wanting to sound to agressive or insult the dealers, maybe if they respond in this way (above), then we should respond with "Well I don't and I'm the one buying it, so get it sorted".

If enough people ask, then on the Rev. B it'll become the standard. Or we can play a new car-travel game next year called "spot the titanium sde vents"[:D]

Tony,

I didn't stand there and say "sorry sir - I'm stupid and won't ask again"[;)]

[:D]

I agree with you. I was trying to say that this is probably in the sales manual as the response to give.

It will be body colour on the 2007MY facelift anyway...[&:]

Wasn't insinuating anything either[;)]

I suppose I was suggesting that the more flipant that we are with them (without being too rude), then regardless of the message that they want to give us, they might start to hear what we're saying.

But this is all presumtion, I havn't seen it in the flesh yet. Maybe they'll look so cool, i'll be dribbling down the side. Then again maybe not.

And who is going where tonight? Anyone at OPC Silverstone?

I think they are a different colour at the moment just so the car stands out as "the new model".
It is easy to see from the front and back that the car has been revised, but there is not much in the way of visual clues to make it obvious from the side.

If I was Porsche I would do the same. But I'd plan the revisions in to change it...

My dealer wasn't offende in the slightest when I asked about the side vents. He just smiled (I could almost see the pound signs in his eyes) as he tells me that he knows someone who can do the job...
