come on then 270 or 280bhp for the "S"
Andrew

Andy nobody is saying at present time but if 270 was the "A" plan and 280 was the "B" plan I hope due to competition pressures, Boxsters higher list price and smallest of face lifts, meanest of warranties [] and poor sales in the USA etc they go for the "B" plan and give us a minimum of 280bhp

Hi Chaps.......this really annoys me if its true.......the dealer assured me that the new model Boxster was not being released until mid to late 2005. Are you absolutely sure about this?

Cheers,
J.

I have been sent an order form to sign

I have been offered a delivery date of January 1st 2005 and I could even get a car this year if all goes according to plan! I don't use my car in winter months very much if at all so Jan 1st delivery isn't of any interest to me and I would personally go for March 1st 2005 [;)]

UPDATE For You:
**************
As I am an existing customer I have been asked to sign the order form only for now and "No Deposit" necessary at this moment in time

I am sure when the official order book opens I will then have to stomp up some hard currency [;)]

Can't get much info on this rumour because if it exists! it will be based on the 987 Coupe which isn't definitely signed off just yet [:-]
But my source very much doubted an RS version would be offered on a Roadster []

I didn't enquire about the RS.

However, logic suggests that it will be based on the Coupe and will follow some way into the build programme.

The SLK AMG55 will be a heavy, big spec. V8 for pimps and drug dealers, whereas any Porsche 'RS' will be a stripped out lightweight for sporting enthusiasts with good taste.

Almost inevitable that an RS will appear now that new Audi TT will have a 350bhp version in 2006.

One guy on another forum has been told 27th November launch date for 987 by his OPC. Mmmm, if that's true should be seeing virtually undisguised cars by now, and we're not []

Well that confirms what I posted here 5/5/04 [:D][8D][;)]

NEW Boxster gets official UK launch 1st week of September 2004.

First dealer cars will hit the streets by end of November 2004.

First customer cars will follow on from December 2004.

I would guess the pictures you are looking for, ie official ones, will happen nearer the factory summer holiday change over period when all the original 986 orders should have been done & dusted.

Aren't you all getting confused with the launch of the Carrera replacement 997? It seems odd that with such a short time to release that no decent details of the 'all new' car have yet emerged, Autumn 2005 is my bet. Additionally wouldn't production of the old model have finished by now, as per the C2, in order to prepare the lines for a new model?
