N-rated Tyres

Hi everyone,

I was wondering where I can find an official list of Porsche approved tyres for the exact dimensions I need.

285/40/R21
315/35/R21

Thanks,
Chris.

Unfortunately, in your sizes you don’t tend to have a lot of choice in Porsche N rated Spec, Pirelli & Bridgestone are about it in a matching set. Pirelli as a rule is quieter but don’t last as long as the harder wearing Bridgestone. Also, just a reminder if you want Porsche to extend your warranty, they normally insist you have to have the correct spec tyre.

Regards
Greg.

Exactly, that's why I am asking. At the moment it wears Pirelli P Zeros, but they are not N-rated, and the warranty demands that they are. But as you said, I am struggling to find options that fit these sizes. Hence my question - I wanted to know which exact tyres are a match, cause when I look them up I may get a tyre for the front, but they won't have a matching tyre for the rear, etc.

Chris,

Your local Porsche dealer will be able to advise you and should also be able to supply suitable N-rated tyres, although it’s best to price-match elsewhere.

On the Cayenne configurator you can see what’s available for the current cars by selecting a 21” wheel size and you’ll see a small tyre symbol in the top RH corner. Press on that for the list, although it looks as though they don’t exactly match your tyre sizes.🤔

Thank you, really appreciate it. I am wondering, what would happen if I went for the slightly bigger profile? These are still Porsche approved tyres.... I need to contact the OPC, as the car came out from the factory with these weird sizes

Just a heads up both Pirelli & Bridgestone are available in both your sizes. Pirelli P-ZERO NO & Bridgestone D-Sport NO hope this info helps.

It looks as though the latest front and rear tyres for 21” wheels are 20mm narrower than those on your car Chris, although they’re the same profile, so that means their rolling diameter will be smaller, leading to a slightly over-reading speedometer [probably about 2%?].

I agree that you should have a conversation with your dealer to find a way forward.

Have a look at Hankook. I found them on Oponeo.

I have the same sizes as you and have run them for 3 years but do have a winter set of Michelins. Hankook pretty good but can tramline a bit. Wear well and not too noisy.

They are N rated.

Thanks, what's the specific model, do you remember?

Hankook produce the Ventus NO S1 Evo3 (K127) NO for the Cayenne (the important bit) means Porsche fitment.
Hope this helps.
Greg.

Apologies Chris, I should have included the full information in the first place. As I said the Hankook tyres can tramline a bit especially when getting a bit worn. Good in the rain but not great at standing water. Reasonably quiet and not quick to wear. Steer well, no real feel but accurate. Ride ok, my car has air suspension.

Thanks Brian, this is really useful given you've had real experience with them. My car has air suspension too and these tyres seems like a good (also cheaper) option to get N-rated tyres and the warranty.
