Nearly a sort of Northern Ace Cafe!!!

Hello

Well this is sort of for Nick's (Appleton's) benefit, but I went to check out the Derby Pool Pub at the Wallasey end of New Brighton.

What a great venue this would be for a meet. Fab views over the sea. A huge car park to the left as you look at the pub and a huge seating area looking out to sea at the front.

There is also a good sized public car park below the pub on the edge of the sea front. It was not too busy this evening with loads of space to park up.

As you said Nick you wanted a "Ace Cafe" style venue I am afraid this is as close as I can get for now. A very Retro looking pub with fab views.

Maybe we could organise a wednesday night catch up [:D]

Lee, that looks perfect - love the retro looks!

Count me in - according to AA route planner, that is 22 miles from me, so a nice run out on a balmy summer's evening, whatever one of those is...[8|]

Why don't we try and get something pencilled in for the first week in August? I'm away until mid July, so any time after that is good for me - should have car back from body shop by then too!

Are any fellow Northerners (or honourary Northerners[:D]) planning to go to the Woodvale Rally (at RAF Woodvale between Formby and Southport, strangely enough[;)]) on the first weekend in August? Could have a discussion about Lee's new location and perhaps turn it into something modelled on the Midlands Classic Car meet or Ace Cafe meets?

Doesn't have to be exclusively Porsche shaped either - nothing better than looking at a variety of interesting cars and meeting like minded people IMHO!

I think this location has a whole load of potential, don't know what the rest of you think?[:)]

Nice one Lee[:D]

Hi Nick

I am away the start of august with work.

I should be able to make the Wednesday 13th August though if that was any use.

Mike (berg944) you going to help the 44 numbers here, can you make it.

Cheers

Lee

isn't the PCGB North West Region monthly meeting on the 2nd Wednesday of the month? ie 13th August...

I'd have thought a few of us from Lancs would come over (our meetings are on the 3rd Wednesday of the month so don't put it back a week!

Sounds like a great idea.

I don't think I will work this August[:)] so should be OK.

Mike[:'(]

Why is this August different than last August.

24 weeks off for the summer again [:D]

See you for a spin out to Wales before then anyway I hope

Should we post this in the R5/R18 and appropriate TIPEC forums too?

Once I get my car back from the bodyshop, I want to do some trackdays and get to as many meets as possible[:)]

Sounds good Nick.

I know there is also an "Official PCGB" meet I think the same night, so do not want to tread on toes, but if we can convince "Mike220" from St Helens to come along with his new 951 it would be the most 951's I have seen in one spot for a while.

And it is a nice location (if the sun is out) with great parking.

You ok to put up a post for this then Nick?

Consider it done boys !

I'm there I reckon, barring any last minute holidays etc. [;)] haha

Will be good to have a natter, and I even know that pub too ! Food's not too shabby, and the views are pretty nice if the weather's good.

Mike

If I can get the myriad of little annoyances fixed on mine before then I will pop up for the evening too [:)]

Knocked three off the list today [:D] but added two more to it []
