Never liked working on my car on Axle Stands!!

A two post ramp would have been a less expensive option. Also a ramp lets you under the car without any obstructions. Wouldn't fancy doing a clutch on a 944 on that. I would end up pulling the car onto the floor as it doesn't look very stable to work on a car at a good height. Would be ok if the car was only a couple of feet off the ground but then whats the point?

No offence intended but just not something I would feel comfortable working on a car on.

A new 2 post ramp was a lot more expensive and also I don't have the height to fit it in the garage which is why I chose this option. I have no intension of removing clutches etc. as I give those jobs to Hartech [:)]

It's not for everyone's needs but it fits mine. Also it is stable, but like anything if you mistreat it or are negligent then accidents can happen.

Thats a fair point.I thought you were going to use it do do more serious work but if your only going to remove wheels or change brake pads etc then that will be fine.

Same company that I got mine from. Did consider the 2 post (thought it was more than that) but I don't have the height in the garage to fit it in unfortunately as I only have 250cm and it is minimum 286cm.

Agree this will be even more sturdy for more involved work if you have the space to fit it.

Thanks Martin
Have to say removed many engines from beetles on mine when the children went through their beetle phase. Removed gearbox from 924 turbo whilst building my sons 924 Carrera GT rep and serviced many front wheel drive cars on it.
also had it high enough to replace rear box on the Speedster with car almost touching the roof of garage again no problems with stability
I think its ideal for what I use it for
