Good day all,

Picking up my 981 GTS this week and I'm hoping to do a few trackdays next year. When is the PCGB trackday calendar released or where do I find it please?

Have owned my 987 R for almost 10 years and fancied a change.

Cheers,

In recent years there have been multiple dates at Castle Combe, Goodwood etc and two dates at Oulton Park. Also single dates at Silverstone, Donington Park, Anglesey and Knockhill.

They tend to sell out very quickly, especially Silverstone, Donington Park and Anglesey, with Oulton Park usually following closely behind. So if you're interested in a particular day it's best to book as soon as you can.

They should really move to a ballot system as many clubs/grounds do at other sporting events i.e. test cricket

That wouldn’t be a bad idea for the really popular dates like Anglesey, Donington Park and Silverstone to give more people a chance.

Club Members should have received an email giving information when track-day slots will become available. More sensibly this year the booking dates are after Christmas and New Year, and in two batches … the first is on 7th January and the second is on 4th February.

Oops! Misread the message Dave.😀

4th February was only for Silverstone, with the final batch on 4th March as you say. Interesting to note that Bedford Autodrome is on the list for the first time, which is only a few miles down the road from me and might be worth a punt.

Not been on any with PCGB. Do these trackdays get booked up really quickly like Taylor Swift concerts?

I’m afraid so Ron, especially as Dave and I have said for Anglesey, Donington Park and Silverstone. You do have to get in very quickly if you want to attend any of those days … so set your alarm!😀

As usual crashed the website. Poor web development in my opinion, if Glastonbury can cope with a million no idea why our clubs webmasters can’t cope with a thousand max.

Cost innit? The club will have crazy web traffic for 2 or 3 days a year, then nothing for the rest. It's not worth the investment.

Doesn't make it any easier to cope with though. It took me 1.5hrs to book a single track day at Cadwell Park this morning.....

Y took me 1.5 as well, see you at Cadwell!. On the investment most days are £450 average, especially if you include instruction, multiple drivers and passengers. There are 18 track days and,I think, around 50 cars per day, this is a £400,000 a year operation, probably worth putting £10k into a specific web page.

See you there!

The trouble is, the £10k webpage is only for 3 days traffic a year. Fairly hard to justify the spend maybe?

I would have thought Silverstone would be really popular and had sort of decided not to do it this year. Imagine my surprise when I opened the webpage late afternoon on Tuesday to find slots still available so I booked it. I think there are 100 cars at Silverstone and also at £600+ its by far the most expensive but was a surprise none the less. Desperate to get Oulton this year, missed it last year due to stupidity but really enjoy that circuit.
