New 992 Turbo S

Guys,
You can option Power steering Plus with Rear Wheel Steering on both models at £185.

It is described as Power-assisted steering system with additional ability to reduce steering effort at low speeds, e.g. during manoeuvring and parking.
I am assuming therefore it is an entirely separate system. Maybe your PC or Reading Customer Services would be able to clarify.

Regards,

Clive

It shouldn't do, but it looks that way. To make it even more confusing rear axle steering is standard on a Turbo S, so if PSP+ is now included too, why is it an option on the configurator?

Porsche's EPAS is not quite as good as the old hydraulic system, but it's close nowadays and greatly improved since the early 991's - it's digital over analogue! :ROFLMAO:

I've covered more than 6k miles in mine with no complaint about steering. I find it well weighted with good road surface feedback. Handling is subjective, of course and something suiting me may not be good for you.

We found the geo on my car to be considerably outside factory tolerances when checked following the settling in period and front end chassis alignment does have a considerable bearing on steering feel. So any correction here may help.

If it's of any interest you can read about my alignment experience here https://www.porscheclubgb.com/forum/tm.aspx?m=1096914.

It's an interesting subject and I hope you will keep us all posted on your own findings in due course.

Regards,

Clive

Thanks Clive

Anyone know of any good alignment specialists in the Hertfordshire area. I've used RPM for a couple for things previously but just wondering if there are any other recommendations?

My guy is around a 2 hour run from you.
If you're prepared to travel, PM me and I'll provide the contact details.
It'll be well worth it. [;)]

Hi, this is my first post on here. We have a turbo-s on order and now I'm thinking of deleting the power steering plus option after reading your comments. Please let me know which colour your paint is. Is it arctic grey? Our spec is arctic grey at present.

Many thanks

Andrew

p.s. on mentioning that this is my first post I can't help but remember a quote from a Monty Python sketch

Question: "May I just say this is my first time on television?"
Answer: "No, I'm sorry there isn't time."

Welcome to the Forum Andrew. I believe Tom, whose car is featured, is now out of the country so may not pick up your message. I think you're right - it looks like Arctic from the pictures and suits the car. Like Clive, mine doesn't have the Power steering Plus fitted and have never specced it in the past and can't say I wanted it either.

Hey hello, my move to Greece is now complete. The colour is Agate. Artic is a new colour that wasn’t available when I ordered mine.

I would not recommend adding PSP+, it interferes with the steering. But even if you don’t spec it, Porsche will still add some version of it….
