Hi Paul. Sounds lovely - just the car and spec that I would've gone for, except manual and the 19" five spoke alloys![:)]

Hi adrian, I was offered a manual c2s with loads of kit but her who must be obeyed wouldn't let me spend any more and the deal had to be done before the month end. I did get a fantastic deal though and have now changed the wheels to turbo's.

....and will only have to pay half the road tax of the 'S' model too! A small thing, I know - but every little helps!! Mind you, you could always get her a Ă‚ÂŁ200 pair of shoes with the money you've saved on the tax!![:D]

Does this mean that there are still good deals to be had on new cars at OPCs? I thought, after talking to some of the salesman at Hatfield, that sales were now pretty strong and the days of financially attractive deals had disappeared. Terry

Terry, I think it depends on the OPCs sales target and if they have met them or not.I spoke to several OPCs in the last couple of weeks and some were alot more interested in doing business before the month end than others. I did get a very very good deal from my OPC but they did want the sale before the month end or the offer would no longer be available. Paul

Paul Congrats on the new car, sounds lovely.. Get yourself a Paddle Shift Steering Wheel as soon as you can, transforms the PDK.. You have to do without the steering wheel multifunctions, but the fun factor is worth the loss... [;)]

Hi, They have offered me the option of paddle shift steering wheel but i was going to stay with the multi-function one. Does it really make that much difference. Paul

Having had both types I would rather have the paddles than the multi-function. You can do all the phone functions through the lower left stalk anyhow. Decisions, decisions.......[;)]

Hi Paul Had the paddle shift wheel fitted last month.. It's so much better having proper paddles than those silly buttons - after a while I stopped using the buttons (I just gave up trying to convince myself they we ok). With the paddles the car is now as much fun as my old manual 997.. Also, the paddle wheel has a slightly smaller diameter (10mm) which does feel better in the bends, believe it or not.. The only function I miss on the old multifunction wheel is the artist/album/track scroll feature on iPod player, however, driving enjoyment has a higher priority for me.. [;)]

I think its fair to say the paddle wheel has brought the enjoyment to a new level for quite a few owners with the PDK.. I'll be ticking that option... garyw

Is it me or is it just odd that Porsche can't combine the two? Look at the state of the 458 Italia steering wheel as demonstrated by Clarkson last week to show how complex it can be!! Perhaps the 991 or whatever it is called will solve the mystery.

It is odd therefore it's not you! On the present paddle wheel it because they have put the lighty up bits on the horizontal spokes where the twiddly bits are on the multifunction wheel. I don't know why they couldn't have left the Sport, Sport + and Launch displays on the dash and had a multifunction paddle instead? As you say Pete, that will be the on the next evolution no doubt!

What they really need to do is fix the paddles to the steering column so I know where to find them!

Nick, I agree entirely. There are very few ocassions when you would want to change gear mid-corner and with a fixed paddle you always know where to find it when needed. [;)] Another development for 991 maybe? [8|] Regards, Clive

If they would just let us design the cars just think how much better they could be![;)] Apologies to OP for getting off topic.....
