New Aqua Blue Colour

Has anyone actually seen this new Aqua blue colour? How does it compare with Cobolt blue?

The picture of it on the porsche website has the colour so oversaturated that I am sure it will look nothing like that outside of a photo studio...[8|]

Hi Robert

I have not as yet seen aqua blue in the flesh but my new car due to be built is in aqua ble so will be able to post pictures when she arrives mid October. I am told it looks similar to the turbo light blue. I have had several grey and silver Porsches so wanted a change.

I think Dereck Sharp has an aqua blu on order or may even have taken delivery by now.

Regards

Thanks Jonathan

Look forward to seeing pics of your new machine when it arrives...

You are braver than me to order a car without seeing the colour... [:D]

No production Aqua Blue cars were built before the beginning of September and thus would not have arrived here before mid Sep. My C2 Cab was completed last Tuesday, but due to the fact that I have specced a few Exclusive options, I don't expect to see it until next Friday. Against my better judgement, I ordered Aqua Blue on the strength of a few good photos and the advice of my dealer principle who has seen pre-production cars in the flesh. All I can think is that the difference between Aqua and Cobalt is similar to that between Seal Grey and Meteor Grey. Meteor is much brighter than Seal, but similar in shade. I'll let you know what I think next Friday [:D]

I think you are safe pre-ordering Aqua blue if you already like Cobalt!

Actually, I think Aqua will look better on a Cab than a Coupe. To my mind, the Coupe in Aqua will require you to wear sunglasses. A Metropol or Black hood may tone it down just a little.

That said, I note in 'The New 911' price list (only just published) they don't recommend Metropole or Ocean with Aqua. Black or Stone Grey are the prefered options for the interior and hood! Interesting that my OPC talked me out of a black hood! Still, what with yellow seat belts and yellow stitching on my car, who cares! [:D]

ps nice report in pp on the wales trip!

My new cab has a blue roof and stone grey leather. having had a cab in the past with a dark leather I found it rather claustrophobic with roof up. With the cabs that with light interiors the cabin is much lighter and not claustrophobic.

Cant wait for mid Oct.

thats been my experience too jonathon-my saab turbo conv was black with black roof but cream leather and much lighter with roof up

Well there is obviously method in my madness. Having specified completely the wrong colour interior I now have a great excuse to change it in 6 months [:D]

Derek

What are you going to order next? My boss (wife) would not let me get away with such a scam but I'm not hen pecked!

I am sure your new car will look great. Please post pictures - I think you said you would be collecting this Friday.

Regards

Still no date for the Cab. They ring you 10 times a day until they have your big deposit, then nothing. Despite originally being told the car was 'scheduled' for completion last Tuesday and despite several e-mails to my OPC, I still have no news of the car. []

I once pushed for a date on a previous car and got nowhere. Then one day, out of the blue, they rang to say I could collect it from the OPC. I replied that they might possibly recall I had booked factory collection (which they originally had confirmed) and would they now like to take it back to Zuffenhausen!! I also think they expect me to keep £80K in a box under my bed, drop everything and rush into town with a big bundle of notes, then drive the car home uninsured!

Of course, silly me, they are so busy at present selling hundreds of cars that they could not possible keep me in the picture.

I'll rattle a few cages this week & let you know!

As for ordering its successor, this is definately my last Porsche. Instead of changing the car, I'll just change the leather, the wheels, the engine and maybe the passenger [:D]

I keep sayingthat my current Porsche is the last I will buy but I always succumb.
My dealer told me that my car would be built on 30 September but if Derek's experience is anything to go by I may have to wait longer than I thought. Will be chasing them up.

I tend to think that changing the passenger may be very much more expensive than buying a new car!!

Funny about the delays - Mine was a few weeks after the orig date as well - I ended up talking to the owner of the chain to get some resolution - that seemed to work well. I had my car detailed yesterday (will post pics when I get 5 mins) and the guy told me that several people had been questioning customer service at said delearship of late.....

BTW - the car is worth the wait - I did 700 miles in it last week and it was amazing!!!!
