I brushed mine over with white spirit. Also make sure that every trace of corrosion is removed from the hub mating surface to ensure that the disc runs true. Once you have cleaned up the surfaces apply a little coppa-slip (not too much) because you never know when you will want to take them back off. Treat the locating screw to a little too, to facilitate ease of removal.
