Hi Guys

Well I know some of you on here and met a fair few and as you will know
I sold my very clean 944 Turbo recently.

I have been thinking of something different for a while, so finally I have picked it up.

And it is still a turbo, but with a rather nice twist!!! They are bolted on to a V8.

Found this amazing example with low miles, amazing history and
showroom condition. You could eat you dinner of the engine it is that clean.

Hope I still catch up with some of you boys if you are ever up north for a snowdonia run.

Or maybe another Not the Northern Ace Cafe, I am happy to sort it out!!!

All the best

Lee

WOW! that is a seriously gorgeous car, and a proper Maserati with the boomerang rear lights too!

Seems rather exotic compared to our 944's!

Question is, how does it drive, what does it feel like compared to your 944 turbo??

Very nice lemon, I saw a couple of these at the Petrolhead Nirvana meet at the Ace the other day. A Maserati does seem like a worthy alternative to the usual BMW, Merc, AM fare.

Would be interested to know how it compares to a 944.

Hi Guys

Thanks for the feedback. It really is a gorgeous looking beast.

I have only had it for a day and at the moment I feel like I have stolen it!!!![:D][:D][:D]

It is different to the 944 in it's power delivery. The V8 gives you lot more low down grunt and
when those "2" Turbo's come on song, you better be holding on tight.
It is stupidly quick in 3rd and 4th gear.

Starting off in 1st is a bit like the 944 in some ways, it is not a drag car from the lights.

The throttle is so light you can over rev it and kill the clutch. But once moving, WOW.

I thought it would be a lot more wallowy the suspension, but it really is rock solid and thats before you
hit the "sport" button which firms everything up.

I will have more info after the weekends driving about.

Thanks

Lee

One of the guys in our Le Mans 24 group is going in one of those I believe, and I have liked them for a long time. They have real class look about them and from what I can tell the interior is beautiful too. I dont think I even want to hear the actual MPG though [&:]

I'd say enjoy the car but I dont see how you couldnt.

Regards
Mas

Very nice! Had a 4200CC before and great car! Lots of style, fantastic interior and goes like a bullitt. Only problem is that if they go wrong, cost an arm and a leg to put right.
Proper 4 seater, rare and an eyecatching!
Is it the manual or paddleshift? And yes when you hit the sports button, its shifts......ENJOY!!

Congrats Lee, I like that a lot [8D]

Keep in touch, you never know when we might do another 'Northern Ace Cafe' and we can all come and gawp at it.

Very pretty cars. I know you looked into the running costs in some detail before committing, but I'll still wager a fair chunk that they cost a lot more per mile than a 944 ...

However, if you can afford it then enjoy! (I know I would, for sure!)

Keep us posted with how you get on with it.

I am sure it will cost more Oli, but like the 944 Turbo, buy a mediocre one and it will hit your wallet hard as many know here.

I came across this example which has been flawlessly looked after.
Now I am not blinkered into thinking it will cost nothing to run,
but get one with all the fixes attended to and keep on top it and yes it will be more
than your diesel vectra, but a whole lot more fun!!!!!

My Turbo was a lovely example and I spent more than the cost of the Masserati I have just bought on tinkering with it etc

Thankfully there is no real tuning products available like the 944 which can soon strip a Turbo owners pocket bare[:D][:D][:D]

Only thing I wanted for this car was the Assetto Corsa alloys, thankfully the guy fitted some before I bought it [;)]

Will keep you updated

Fabulous ! I love those cars, if only i could afford to buy/run one...[&:]

You can Jon, they are not stupid money to buy. Add up your car and all your upgrades and hey presto.

I went to look at this example and it was fabulous 42,500 miles on the clock and 370BHP out of the box

Wow that's peanuts for such an exotic beauty. Im sure you cant stop grinning [:D]be interested to see how your running costs work out, good luck!

Drat...wish I hadn't looked at that advert !

£11,750. For that. Crazy.

That's close to the Top Gear episode where they ran Italian supercars bought for under £10K, but at the time they were real sheds. How the mighty fall in value, great for us. [8D]

Not sure if I'm more jealous of the Maser, or Mike's Corvette. [&:]
