New car, not Porsche but does have Turbo's!!!

A neighbour a few doors down from me had one of those. He drove it like a Ford Focus - it stayed out on the drive all year round, drove it every day in all weathers and in about 3 years of ownership he didn't have any problems with it, certainly none that stopped him from using it. He changed it recently for the previous model Audi RS6 so he could get rid of his work-van and lump stuff around in the back of his Audi. Both cars sound great as he rumbles down the road first thing in the morning.

Wow that is lovely[8D]You must be really happy with that, love the rear lights they are stunning!!
Enjoy your car Lee!!!

I caught an old episode of 5th gear the other day, the one with Tiff and Jodie kidd when she was racing her Maserati, the sound of that car was amazing and loud (I guess it was unsilenced), what's yours sound like Lee?

What a car. I used to sit on the Maserati website making dream cars at my old job (at lunch time). Those pictures really do make me want one. I have a huge soft spot for comfy cruisers with grunt and the 4200 is at the top of its game in that department. An interior feel and quality that the Germans and Japanese have never and will never be able to re-create. Has to be British or Italian for that feel.

Drat...wish I hadn't looked at that advert !

£11,750. For that. Crazy.

That's close to the Top Gear episode where they ran Italian supercars bought for under £10K, but at the time they were real sheds. How the mighty fall in value, great for us. [8D]

Not sure if I'm more jealous of the Maser, or Mike's Corvette. [&:]
A Maserati does seem like a worthy alternative to the usual BMW, Merc, AM fare.

They are that price for a reason, lovely car, shame about the (potential) massive running costs.

We have a Maser specialist near us and because of that I know 2 (ex) Maser owners who went grey and potless with the almost continuous issues (and cost) of owning them [&:]

Sounds like yours has had the money spent, good luck, lovely car.

Very nice lemon, I saw a couple of these at the Petrolhead Nirvana meet at the Ace the other day. A Maserati does seem like a worthy alternative to the usual BMW, Merc, AM fare.

Would be interested to know how it compares to a 944.

Hi All

Just a quickie after nearly 500 miles under my belt with the new motor.

Compared to the 944 turbo it is a very different animal.

With so much torque on tap, lag is none excistant[8D]

I am defiantely having to change my driving style as the 944 needed to be revved much more
to get it really moving, keeping it above 3,000 revs to keep the whole thing on the boil.

The 3200 is pulling like a train from 1,800 revs and goes like the proverbial by 4,000 and there
is still the nearly 7,000 rev limit to hit yet, thats when things start really start going bonkers, from
4,000 to 7,000 revs!!!!.

And the exhaust note[8D][8D][8D]
Well that is to die for. Upto 4,000 revs its a deep V8 growl and after that when both Turbo's
are on full song it goes into a sort of higher pitched frenzy, AMAZING....[:D]

I am so glad I have gone for the 3200 with it's turbo's, like the 944 Turbo it was that addictive
Turbo shove that I will never get tired of.

I still miss the 944 though, just wish I had a double garage (and some more cash to run 2 sunday cars!!!)
then I could have the best of both worlds.

Cheers

Lee

Nice car Lee [8D]

I always thought they looked slightly overweight, but still purposeful.

I always felt the 3200gt spec sounded much tastier than the later 4200gt. Conventional crank as opposed to flat-plane?

Nice choice, and let us know about the running costs! [:)]

Beautiful car Lee. It looks just as nice as you described on the phone. The wheels are nicer than the originals too.

I've just been rebuilding my old Marin mountain bike - not quite the same thing!

Will get up to yours soon for an ride

Show us all an engine pic though!

Nick, are you joining the 944 fold again now you've scratched your 911 itch? or will it be another 911 or something else?
