Anyone busy this weekend? Or can they lend me a hand to pop my old ugly dashboard out and pop this beauty in?

I notice the nutter erm I mean vendor, states that a potential buyer may need "professional help" in fitting said work of art. I might suggest it is he who needs that for other reasons....[8|]

Apart from everything else thats just so wrong with that, could you actually read any of the main dials once the steering wheel was in place ?

What if you crash, will you get a rusty nail in the head?

'the professional upholstery cost £300 alone!'

I wonder if the 'Top Quality Leatherette' is better quality than the Vinyl errrr, sorry, I mean Leatherette Porsche covered the rear seats in?

I like this bit though when he's talking about the old style 924/944 dash "They looked like something badly designed from the 1960's". Mmm and exactly what style/period were you aiming for with this new gem of a dash? It looks like something straight from a kit car. I paid £180 for a full black oval dash with no alarm, screw holes etc and he wants £299 for this! Get real. I'm utterly amazed.

Damon: £180??? I bought a late one recently that was perfect and I paid £15. After I bought it I was offered two more for free that were being thrown away, both out of 968s. An oval dash wasnt ever worth the £100-£120 that you could get for a perfect black 924S dash in breakings heyday.....

:ROFLMAO: I just burst out laughing as soon as i saw the picture!!! I think i woke the neighbours upLOL OMFG why oh why??????????

I'd been concerned that, as the oval dashes are beginning to show cracking, we'd all be out there looking for good ones and paying a fortune. Now I can see just how simple it is to replace with sticky-backed plastic and some MDF from B&Q.

Not only are the looks impoved, but the MDF will absorb any moisture from my leaky sunroof as well. [:)]

Anyone notice? that the Ebay picture inc the Blue gaitor and seats as well as the excellant one off Dash!! are the same as the top middle pic on the Woods site.

Does that mean there are 2 of THEM

I'll have to retract my bid now[:D][:D]

ORIGINAL: 944 man

To be fair the dash was mint and included literally everything, clocks (not used), all switches, surrounds, glove box, centre console etc etc.. I had a cracked dash so it was important for me to get a decent replacement.

This chaps dash defies belief.

In fairness it doesn't look terrible, but it doesn't look good. It smacks of having built a new dash for the sake of it. Which isn't good, and will never sell for more than pennies.

Seats look interesting tho'. What are those?

Oli.

Btw, if anyone is getting rid of a cracked/cheap oval dash please let me know, as I want one to experiment with.

I see next to no redeeming features at all.

Those of us that have ventured behind a 944 dash will also appreciate that it would be close to impossible to even change a bulb without removing the whole dash - I guess you could train a mouse to do the job, or program a nanobot? [8|]

I am rather please that it isn't terribly desirable as I have a real fancy for fitting a Stacks analogue/digital dash pod. Had that been a good example of such a thing I may might have been tempted.
