hiya,,,
a very happy and healthy 2018 to everyone,,,,
a elderly neighbour reversed and hit my fog light [pass side] and smashed just the glass ,,,everything else is fine like bulbs etc,,,
best price i can get as its only the glass needs replacing but over here its £220 at PC and £250 at the others like design 911,,,
I see that Lindsey racing over in the usa,,does just the lens part for $70 plus import taxes but not too sure if i get hammered for postage and import taxes,,
Any ideas much appreciated,,,,,jasonp

I am paying for it Paul,,,,,
I wont take the money off a 80+ neighbour,,,,
it was an accident and it was xmas,,,,

You will need to pay VAT at 20%, which isn’t that much. Then there is the Royal Mail handling charge for doing basically.....well nothing. As an example on a $20 throttle rebuild kit from Arnworx I had to pay 20% of the GBP amount then £13 Royal Mail handling charge. It was one of those I know you only work here and it’s not your fault but here have my spleen vent anyway. Not sure if the handling charge is proportional to the amount though?

Thanks Rob,,,,
i dont understand why Lindsey can fabricate this part but over here its £220 or £250 for a unit thats not really needed when its just the glass needing replacement?,,,,,,jp

I think the glass is available elsewhere, what about German ebay? No chance Lindsey are making that part either.

I thought that Paul but at $70 plus import and royal mail charges it still works out much better and to add insult to injury I heard back from my chaps about the r32 clutch problems and its a new clutch and DM flywheel plus mot and that will be £1200 to £1300 thank you very much!,,,,,
Not the best start to the year,,,,,,jasonp

Lyndsay one will potentially point the wrong way as well, and I had a feeling they had a different set up stateside - I think a swap to euro lenses is popular but cant recall the exact details.
Tony

Cheers Chaps,,,
Doh! it was the incorrect part so i have cancelled my order,,,,
so looks like my local pc for £220 including vat,,,,,,
thanks jasonp

Even the respected breakers can't get these for less than the new price!

You deserve a medal for not charging the guy and making him claim on his insurance. True Christmas spirit!

I have januarys price list
951 631 221 00
951 631 222 00

left or right are both £219.98 from OPC less your tipec discount, i would try Bristol or Leicester OPC they tend to give bigger discounts

Thanks Paul,,,,,i wouldnt bother trying to explain to a 84-85 year old the complications over a piece of glass needing replacement and that it comes to £240!,,,,,,,,also the old fella lost his wife recently so i was defo not going to add to his worries,,,,
I look at like its all good karma in the long run,,,,,,,jasonp

just a quick update and Lyndsey racing refunded me and hopefully a pm sent to me might do the trick regarding a part,,,,,jp

I'd stick a couple of small round projector lights in each side.
For the time being i have stuck a very strong clear tape across it and you wouldnt know the difference unless close up,,,,
as the bulbs are perfect and thanks Paul,,,,jp

I bought a complete unit from Promax 5 or 6 years ago when they were around £100. I invested in some plastic covers at the same time, could you just use those covers instead of replacement?

Mine are cracked Jason. I put some lens repair tape on them then used the Promax perspex protectors. With the tape and the protector you would literally need to get your eye right to them to know they were cracked.
