any further info, news or thoughts re the 'loud tick' from the PDK gearbox? Is this a known problem as I've noticed a similar tick-like-clunk with my 991.2 C4GTS usually at low speed.

I think Jeff, although I'll let Niko speak for himself, that this isn't an actual problem.
The nature of the PDK 'box is a lot more mechanical than the super silky auto boxes we're all used to nowadays (particularly the ZF) so I think it's fair to expect the odd clunk and whine from time to time, after all, it is actually an "automated-dual-clutch-manual"

My solution to this is open the PSE and up the revs. You can't hear it then :)

It's actually made by ZF. It's different to the robotised manuals that Aston fitted, amongst others - is that what you mean by "automated-dual-clutch-manual"

Hey Jeff,

As I mentioned in previous post, it kept doing this (a quite loud tick) when cold - as I was slowly getting out of a steep underground parking. I think it was playing between 1st/neutral/hill hold, engaging and disengaging. On level ground and at low speeds you can barely hear the gear changes, but I think that's normal. And PSE masks it nicely!

Hi Ralph, Sorry, yes, I should have been more specific and said "ZF's Torque Converter Multi-geared Automatics". I'd never refer to a PDK, DSG or SST gearbox as an "Automatic". I didn't know ZF made the PDK, I thought it was just the casing and primary bearings they made?
