New owner

Best thing to do is to find that good indi and get them to take it for a test drive, have a poke around the suspension and tell you what condition it is in. It could well be in perfect condition or alternatively could be awful. In fact getting them to look over the whole car gives you an idea of what's going to be needed over the next two or three years so you can budget any upgrades without having any nasty surprises popping up.

When it comes to the Targa the choices on suspension upgrades is more limited as you don't want to go harder due to the Targa roof and in fact may be a simple case of replacing like with like when they wear out. As an ex Targa owner (as seen on the left in my pic) I thought the standard setup worked well with the car.

Thanks for the thoughts. I'll probably go to ninemeister for an alignment then as I've used them before and have been really impressed with the service. I'll also get them to give it the once over which they usually do anyway whenever you deal with them.

I am quite happy with the suspension but as mentioned its probably because I'm new to the car. I will wait to see if it gets bad before replacing.

Have gone with a tip, so clutch is not a problem. I know the manual is one to go for but I do lots of miles and its my only car. To be honest it has taken the first couple of weeks to get used to it, but now I am I am very happy with it.

I'll second what's been said above, with the following additions. In order of importance, I would suggest the following:

1. Good check by an indie, make sure up to date with service requirements.
2. Make sure that the engine bay wiring loom has been upgraded if applicable (check your VIN no. & other posts on this forum regarding this). Not sure when targas were released, maybe after this issue was resolved. If it needs doing, ask your OPC - they might do it for free.
3. Original Munroes last 20-30 000 miles. Not sure what mileage your car has done, but my car's ride was terrible. It crashed over potholes & wandered around on the road. Now, with PSS9s (which you can have adjusted for ride height & rebound) + proper geometry set-up by 9M, it drives superbly. No trace of tramlining, despite my 18" rims (yes I am a Kylie!).
4. Get a good set of matching tyres. Many opinions on the best. Just make sure they are Porsche-approved. I'm delighted with my P-Zeros.
5. Then upgrade your exhaust. RSRs are civilised, not boomy but nice & growly/tubular. Fabspeed etc are downright outrageous, sound magnificent but you may find too loud for daily use or may fail track day noise limits. Latter go best with more sporty versions of the 993 but that's just IMHO.

Hope you have lots of fun. These are fabulous, but not cheap cars to run. [;)]
