I would also add, if it's not a daily drive make sure that you drive the discs out after washing before you put it away in the garage. This will help prevent corrosion on the inside faces which leads to vibration and disc replacement. Keep on top of the interior and exterior cleaning it saves a big job or expense further down the line. Get involved in your local region its great fun and you meet some great people. I found it helpful to acrue cash on a monthly basis. Sooner or later you will need to have work done and whoever you use it won't be cheap, putting money aside offsets this effect. If you don't need to that's great. Most of all enjoy the car, they are meant to be driven and are fantastic machines. Last but not least if you get the chance drive the Nurburgring [:D]or as a cheaper alternative The Wester Ross coastal road in Scotland,do it !![:D]they are both fantastic pieces of tarmac.
Welcome to Porschership

Welcome, had mine several years, I bought it with 32k on the clock it's now done 64k it's given me many years of fun, and is still great to drive. I believe you have to look after these cars and then they should be reliable and very fun to drive.

Enjoy when you get it and I look forward to seeing some pictures.

Hello, I have a 2001 C4 with 61000miles and its a fantastic car. Like you I read about the RMS and IMS issues and this was a worry, so I decided to have both jobs done when I bought the car. The work was carried out by my local indy and I was lucky as the IMS was close to failing. As the indy told me, this is the best money you have ever spent. Its a lottery really, as I did not expect anything to be wrong. But for me I would recommend it to any new owner as the IMS in my car gave no cause for concern, but was still failing. This is just my opinion, and I was very cynical about failures on the 996. Have fun with your C4, its a fantastic car.[;)]

Welcome Seb!

Someone may have disabled the PSE, as some like it loud all the time. It may have the relay removed, or the vacuum valve or tubes disconnected. Default position of the valves is open.

Can't help with the holes, but do you mean large holes in the PU near the number plate lights? No idea what they would be for. A photo might help.

It was working so I don't think it has been disabled. Trying to upload image but having technical difficulties!!

Looks like its worked! Its the larger hole near the top

I'm pretty sure the larger holes are non-original too. Deffo nothing to do with Park Assist. What a bodge - I understand why you find it irritating, it would bug me too.
