New Regional Organiser

ORIGINAL: Chris Clark

Thames Valley Members -
It's great to see the messages of support for your new RO and his team. Please attend the next meeting if you can, and help to get things moving again in what is (numerically) the largest Region in the Club.
Wish I could join you on Sunday, but I have a conflicting event "up North"
Best regards,
Chris Clark
Regional Director

Chris, can we have the Greater London (West side in Thames Valley and all other sides everywhere else) back if there is a competition for the largest region? [;)]

Thank you Tony and Harriet of R16 for your greeting. I am sure we must have met in passing. I have to apologise and admit that I can't put faces to all the names yet.
John

Yes, we have talked to each other at Cornbury House on the last open day when we were looking ([]) at your car on display. Tony and I will be up there tomorrow on duty, in our black shirts, so see you then[:D][:D]

Harriet

Yes I remember you both now. That little bit of ([]) will cost around £455

Good to see we have the RO situation sorted - I will be there today - have not been for a while and hope to say Hello to you John.

John, congratulations on your appointment. I wasn't able to attend on Sunday as I was enjoying the marvellous planning and hospitality of a rival Porsche club [;)] in the Lake District over the weekend! But I wish you well as our new RO and hope you'll be the man to put some excitement into the region. If you want ideas and support, just ask. There are probably lots of people willing to give either or both so don't feel you've got to do it all yourself. And remember you can't please all the people all the time or you'll go nuts trying... One thing though; I know it's early days but could you give us an idea of how you intend to run things, and what you see as the priorities for the region at this time? Best of luck to you...

John and all in R19
Sorry I couldn't make Sunday, being John's first meet as RO but the damn immobiliser on my car decided to... well immobilise the car!

I spent the whole morning in the garage trying to sort the problem out then finally called Melv to ask if he could pass on my apologies to all only to find he was away for the weekend, groan!

Here we are on Thursday 10th and I am still without the car because although we can communicate across the planet in real time today it still takes the good old Royal Mail a week to get a parcel with replacement alarm components from one county to another []

See you all next month (hopefully)
Leslie

Congratulations John!! ..and thank you for pick up the role as RO this is a thankless task.
You have our full support!.

Many people think that this is a thankless task so I must be perverse. I have enjoyed my first 8 days as new R/O, and for every negative comment there are at least 5 positive ones. In the spirit of not pleasing all of the people all of the time, I tend to try to deal with the negatives, but I am not going to develop O.C.D if I can't convince people to change their minds. One of the first objectives I set myslef was to try and moderate, and if possible prevent, the opprobrium suffered by the club as a whole, in respect of the disquiet surrounding the irregular departure of Fabien from the club. This has been a source of great pleasure, as I quite enjoy a good verbal work out.

Lots of people are helping me pick up the peices, and once I get the hang of things, I hope people will look back and say that it is certainly no worse than in the days of Fabien
