New RS needed, and for sale

Due to multiple fans being hit with, well, you know what....

Firstly. Fire sale of my 944. '90 S2 in Titanium with black leather, most history is on this site if you look. Belts due this May, but has had all the majors like water pump etc. so should be a precautionary change.

Failed MOT in May with tyres, handbake cable and slight rot to NS inner sill. Was quoted easy fix ( we all know Rob at Classic and Custom and he knows his 944s), and most bodywork was fixed and painted in 2012, but personal issues have meant the car's been left unused since May. New tyres were fitted at home so have 100 metres on them rolling them to avoid flat spots, Handbrake hasn't been used once. [&o]

Main point is we need a new 944 Register Secretary if I have to lose the car. We have our main conference in April so we really need someone to step up by then.

Calls to me on the mobile would be appreciated, or call Albert directly as Register Director. I've not got that far yet, so sorry Albert!. Email is, as I'm sure you understand, a bit of an issue when home get's difficult, so if anyone wants to offer to take the role on please call or text first and we can move on from there.

Main thing is car needs to go asap. I'd appreciate some sensitivity, that it's going to get you a smack if you take the pee, and that it's got to be cash.[:(]

paul@gdslandscapes.com for any questions.

I am personally saddened to read Pauls post. He had been a major asset to the Club as a whole and the 944 owners in particular. I do hope that circumstances change and that he can continue.

Really shocked and saddened to read this. As Geoff says, Paul has been a truly superb RS for all the time I have been involved with 944's and the club. Even sadder to hear about the difficulties that have brought this about.

Truly hope things improve and this does not have to happen.

Paul, will be in touch.

+1... I really hope there’s some way you may continue to be such an enthusiastic secretary of the Club, Paul - the 944 Register will be incomplete without you (and your 944!)

So sorry to read this Paul [:(]!! Please let me know if there's anything I can do to help? Best wishes mate [:)].

Pete'.

The club will lose a valuable servant, and the register would not be the same without you.

I have left a voicemail, speak soon.

Another day, another 8-odd hours of phone calls, and some positive options opening up. I won't say thanks to everyone as I've had so many messages it'd be impossible. Car sale is on hold, TBH I'm concerned selling it needing work as that's a stupid way to sell a car, but if it has to go then the people who've expressed an interest are all noted in order, and thanks to you all. If you ever doubt the genuine care the current Board have for the Club, and more importantly the people in it, just call me and I'll tell you. Suffice to say I was overwhelmed with how far they've gone and you aren't rid of me for now at least. Crap news is I have to continue to be polite on the forums.

Hi Paul

just to add to the comments given above, I too wish you all the best ...I hope that things work out for you and that you both keep the car and remain as RS...

kind regards

Pete

Good luck for the future. Maybe if you sell the S2 you could come back with a turbo [;)].

Good to see that things are looking up a bit for you Paul. I hope things turn round for you soon.

P.S. No need for the silly talk of Turbos things are not that bad

Great to hear that things are looking more positive. You really should not be surprised at the level of support you have received given the high regard you are held in.

Hi Paul,

I had not looked at forum for several days and was shocked to see your first post-fortunately there seems an improvement

in position.

I join all the others in hoping you can keep your much loved 944S2- lets forget rubbish about turbo's would be a retrograde step.

Also that you remain as R.S for the forseeable future.

All very best wishes-its your fault i have my 944.

Ron Smith

Ps Hope to see you at Rutland

Gosh - that's a post that I never thought I would see. And I'm quite upset to read it.

Paul, your post is scanty on the detail but I hope that things work out for you. Please don't go. We need you as an RS. And to sell your S2 would be a great shame.

Oli.
