New Toy

About time i posted a few pictures of the new toy.[8D]

Its a non-sunroof CS with full m030, albeit not factory fitted. It has given me a couple of problems recently...like needing two new cams, but is a strong car, drives well and the m030 gives it that sporty edge. Its had a thorough service, a few bits replaced here and there, wheels refurbed, new tyres and so on. Even has an alcantara club sport steering wheel. Unlike the white CS that it replaces it can be used as a regular car! I'm not getting hung up with it being immaculate, will use it in the wet and may be my daily drive for a short time.

Not sure how long i will keep it, its just a toy at the moment, an impending house extension and the e9 wreck in particular needs alot of money....just not finding time to get on witht he e9 so that suits me for now [:)]

Very nice..... your advert a while back for the white CS really got me thinking about a 968 (though I'd need to sell a 944 or maybe two beforehand!)

I'd be interested in seeing a picture of your alcantara CS steering wheel Jason!

Car looks very, good, particularly the engine bay and suspensio[:D]n

Marv, just for you. The Alcantara feels great, cost me ÂŁ130 + ÂŁ10 postage, details below. Looks well with the centre left in leather, finish is very good.

Always thought that the cs wheel is one of if not the best steering wheel ever on a road car, feels lovely,in Alcantara ....drooooool!!!

Mark, often have to wipe the drooooool marks off myself [:)] It is a lot 'blacker' than in the image, much darker than the leather, looks very good though. It does feel rather pleasant under hand. The steering wheel in the race car is suede, much better when you have golves on but rough in comparison.

He chaps.
That steering wheel is a lot better in the flesh. It just feels "right"...[;)][:D][:D][:D][8D][8D][8D]
Ide be interested to see how it lasts / wears over time.
As the suede ones do "wear" a bit,,,
Then again if its on a occasionaly used car itl be ok, i guess...

The car was only ever a toy and was bought with the intention of bringing it up to a good standard and simply use. Notwithstanding a few issues with work, the e9 'wreck' needs money spending on it, and i may have secured a 30 year plus part for it over the weekend for which the total cost of buying and refurbishing will basically be what the CS is worth! Hence, i now have it for sale! Pretty disappointed after all the work i have done. The particular part on the other hand is rare, seriously rare, in fact as about as rare as you can get for the e9 and only the second i have come across for sale in about 5 years, and is needed for my long term intentions. Not definite and in my hands yet, but oh so close.

I sent my wheel off to the same guy Monday. I'm hoping he'll be able to do the centre boss section too. Might also consider getting the gear stick and surround done in the same way if I like the look of the wheel.
Thanks,
Hedge

Let us know how you get on Hedge, I didn't realise he can also do the gearstick, as my gearstick is looking a bit tired now.

Got my wheel back today. It looks soooooooo nice. I've asked him if he can do the gear lever & gaitor too, I'll let you know if he can (SM).

I'll post a pic up when I can, can't wait to fit it back on. I've had mine done slightly differently to Jason's in that I've had the centre boss section done too (keeping the badge though).

Cheers,
Hedge
