New Toy

225 Megane Renaultsports are cheap too (i know, i know, they are cheap to begin with!)

Also browsed Works Mini's, Focus RS, Honda DC2's and 5's. Kind of reminds me of the bargain hot hatches of the late 80's.

Try for an ADAC Lupo Cup if you can find one. GTI if you can't

Absolutely great fun. Clio Cup 172 is the one to have if going French.

PM me if your after one as I know of one for sale.

My pug is a hoot,it's pretty standard apart from ported and polished head, slightly fruity cam, four branch manifold and KW V2.
It has it's hissy fit moments (the other month on a gold track silverstone event) but when it's running sweet and I'm in the mood there is nothing like it,it's like a FWD Lotus Elise... it just feels so nimble and I don't think anything else hot Hatchy quite has that raw pointy flickableness because they are so much heavier. If you drive them hard they do need looking at quite a bit though because they are getting old now,I have swapped everything on mine [&o]..
I have had many moments where it has tested my patience and I have sworn I'm selling it, but at the minute I am totally in love with it,did 300 mile round trip in it the other day because I was just in the mood for a thrash rather than a cruise.
Makes you feel like a kid too[:D]
205 gtis are Well worth a look if someone is in the Market for a toy FWD hatch[:)]

Jason,
Hows about a Nissan 350Z GT.????

My daughters 3rd car ,whilst at University was a Peugeot 205 XS--I didn't want her to have a GTI to avoid the competing boy racers effect on her when on the road-although she wanted one .
Once I had sorted out not only the cam timing but also the ignition timing,& properly tuned the twin downdraft Solex,it went like a dream-in fact not far short of at least the 1.6 GTI.To this day ,it remains her favourite car-bought for £1800-sold after 2 years for £1950.
An Icon much like a Mini.

Great little engine in the XS[:)] i had an AX GT back in the day with same engine went really well, what is so special about the pug and even the AX is the low low weight ..there are no cars that light anymore, not good in a bump maybe but they feel so direct when changing direction, just brilliant if you like driving.

Very true Mark, I remember following a mate cross country about 15 years ago. He got his AX massively sideways in a quick corner followed by a fish tail which he managed to catch. I did fear for him because crashing one of those things at speed is really going to hurt. It was also the only downside of the very lively handling, modern cars have tended to have this tendency engineered out of them unfortunately along with much of the fun.

Appears to be up for sale again, obviously didn't go racing, nice mark up though.

Advert could be better....especially since it has full M030 (albeit not fitted at new)

As a side note, the e9 project is going well, albeit consuming money at an alarming rate (expected). For those wandering where the rather splendid white 968CS money went....this is what it buys you (coupled with a shed full of parts) [:D]
