Hi Peeps,

First post on forum so go easy on me please. After various high performance German cars, starting with my first being a Mk2 Golf GTI 16v in Oak Green whilst at Uni, many years and cars in between, to my last car being a BMW M4 Competition, I'm now finally in the position to get my first Porsche, something I've aspired to for many years. [:)]

So, at the beginning of Nov 2020, I placed an order for a 992 Carrera S, delivery expected April/May 2021. I'm going to see my dealer next week to finalise my spec and lock it in now that they are allowed to open to public. Getting very excited and can't wait if I'm honest, something to look forward to over the next few months. I'm keen to learn a lot from you all about Porsche and contribute to the club and forum. Hopefully meet some of you in the future at meets too.

Many thanks,

Schuey.

Great spec will look very nice

Crayon seat belts to match stitching?

What about safety equipment? The Lane assist is good so are the blind spot indicators in the mirrors especially on motorways

Another thing to look at is a stripe! You can get a Matt black one that goes over the bonnet and roof...... wicked!

Nice spec and welcome !
quite restrained on the options boxes too!,
enjoy the anticipation

Thank you. I have Lane Assist on my BMW 5 Series Touring and I’m not keen on it at all, find it dangerous at times so switch it off. Perhaps the Porsche one is better but something I don’t feel I need. Blind spot is a good shout, will get that added.

Not into stripes and don’t think I’ve got the guts to experiment with that, might look really cool but don’t want to take the risk! [;)]

Thank you for the welcome. This isn‘t the final spec, I‘m new to Porsche so open to suggestions. But I’ve chosen all the ones that make it more driver/performance oriented, anything else on top is a bonus really for me. But at the same time I’ve got a budget in mind and don’t want to go crazy on options either. I was originally looking to get a used 991.2 GTS, but after seeing the new tech inside the 992, I decided it has to be a 992. Having had many BMW’s, I‘m used to their brilliant infotainment systems and so needed something on par with that at least. I still love the looks of the 991 though too!

I would add the sports design side skirts. It really enahances the look rather than just the standard black plastic.

Morning Peter,

That's a good shout, makes it look more aggressive. If I remember correctly that's around a £750 option. Will get that added I think. Your car looks great by the way, body colour and wheels really go well together. Thanks for sharing. :)

Congratulations on your first Porsche - some introduction!

You say you are speccing with driver/performance orientation in mind. I know they're expensive, but the PCCBs are brilliant in this car.

Very nice car you've set up though. There are a few bits and pieces I wouldn't bother with, but that's the beauty of deciding on what you want in your own car.

Thanks for the warm welcome Peter, glad you like it. PCCBs are out of my budget I’m afraid, as much as I like them. But as I understand it, the standard brakes a pretty good and much better than the standard brakes on ///M cars, so they are already better than what I’m used to. ????

Yes, the standard brakes are excellent, it's only after you've had the PCCB's that it's hard to go back!

Peter is right!

Budget mindful and performance focussed!

Ditch
  • - Electric Folding Mirrors, Porsche Logo Courtesy Lights, - Model Designation in High Gloss
  • - Rear Axle Steering - Sport Exhaust with Black Tips, Porsche Crest on Headrests
  • - BOSE surround stereo
Add
  • PCCB'S

You know it makes sense! [:D]

Regards,

Clive

Or just buy a GT3 and do it properly ...... Prices falling from the annoying 'overs'

Getting tempting ......

Bit focussed for the OP's first 911, but if you fancy one yourself, go for it - life's too short..... [;)]
