newbie question

Aren' t all the Porsche Centres linked countrywide so they can search for and supply a pre-owned Porsche of the spec needed?

you' ve got to be joking! that would involve them talking to each other!!

i thought the same as thats what im used to with most other makes, but it seems centres don' t deem it necersary so it' s the customers that have to do all the leg work!!!

If Ford can transport a silver ford fiesta 1.2 zetec right across the country so i could have it in time for my daughters birthday.at no extra charge you would think porsche could do it .

To make it easier though, you can search the stock that a particular centre holds (or all the OPCs) by going to http://www2.uk.porsche.com/english/gbr/dealer/default.htm, select a dealer near you and select the " Porsche Approved Used Cars" on the right.
You will see two options, one for " Centre stock" and one for " Used Car Locator" .
If you use the locator, it will tell you all the 993' s around, or C2 cabs, or whatever you ask it for.

Of course this is only for the 33 OPCs, so tends to only cover newer higher value cars.

Clare, I' m sure that the difference from a 180bhp to a 2.7 Boxster is similar to 225 TT to Boxster S. I was going to buy a 2.7 until I looked at the pricing of options which I wanted many of which were standard on the S and justified the extra (thats my excuse anyway...)
I have a friend who is selling his immaculate R plate 2.5 with Tiptronic which he treats like a baby but is now getting a real one to play with (a baby) so hence it has to go.
it may be too old for you though

it certainly was an extra in 2001 i believe-but i am sure the technical team will supply full details

It was certainly an option in 2001 - as I specced my 2001 S without it.
John Bond's 2.7 hasn't got it, and Nic Doczi also ordered his car(s) without it.

So all the Boxster Register Secretaries for the last few years all bought their cars without it [:D]

Before PSM was was introduced traction control was offered - also as an option.

MY2000 2.7 Sports Pack Option

17" Wheels
Traction Control
030 Suspension
and a free wind deflector!
